As most of you know I have some white multi spokes and cleaning them is getting rather frustrating as it takes me atleast 20mins per wheel.

Well I found this stuff call Muk off you get it in halfords in the bike section. You damp your wheel, spray the stuff on leave it for a bit then jet it off.

It's amazing all the dirt just falls off, and it doesn't damage your wheels. I didn't even have to use my finger to get in the corners.

Just thought I'd share.

Do you need to scrub the wheels at all? It just sounds too good to be true.

It takes me longer to wash my wheels than it does the rest of the car.

Have used Muck Off for a couple of years!

I used a soft bristled brush to agitate! Dont leave it on to long though as it dries really quickly!

Nowdays though I keep my wheels regularly topped up with layers of wheel sealant - washing lightly with Megs shampoo and a relegated wash mit!

Personally I don't like using wheel cleaning stuff on mine.... I think they would eat into the paint and that’s how you get your nice white wheels to go creamy after a while.

I usually remove the alloys and then use paint renovator and polish them..... comes out just like new and soooo smooth to :)

I use Wonderwheels at the moment. i know its pretty harsh stuff but I water it down 50:50 and wash it off straight away. Next time will probably get something non-acidic such at the Megs stuff or muck off. Just a tip: Use it on your calipers as well. I do it on mine and they come up nice and bright red, so shine beautifully behind the white wheels:

p.s. the wheels have not been refurbed yet

Muck off doesn't ruin your wheels.

Doesn't need any scrubbing. Although I tend to give it a quick swish about.

My veiw about it is that if you can just spray it on and let it go to work. It cuts into the dirt and brake dust so it can all be removed so whats to say it doesn't cut into the paint or lacquer?

I jus clean my wheels with the same stuff I clean my car with and then do what I said in the earlier post once a month. Mind you 5 spokes are much easier to clean.

My mate runs his own valeting company and I use whatever he is trialling. Last time I cleaned my wheels I used some Turtle Wax Nano stuff that he had weakened by mixing it with normal Meguiar's NXT car shampoo and water... It worked so well. I am normally worried about stuff taking the laquer/paint off my wheels (that Auto Glym Clean Wheels did that to my standard Ronals I'm sure) and I was staggered at how well this worked and how safe it seemed to be for the wheels.

According to my wheel supplier "Motorsport Wheels" in Leeds. They claim Muc-off has caused my wheels to begin to corrode. I kinda don't believe them but my wheels are no longer covered by warranty so I have no leg to stand on. They informed me to use nothing other then hot water and car cleaning shampoo used on your bodywork to clean them. Then polish them like you would your car in order to protect them and make them easier to clean.

fairy liquid

i just use the same shampoo i use to clean the car with, but i use a sponge/my finger to get between the multispokes (16v rims are a pain!)

Meguiars gold class is very soft, and never leaves a mark on my rims, gets my thumbs up :coolthumb
