Just purchased one of these and found it hard not to leave water marks. Its there a nack to using these?

Also clayed my car for the first time, using mags quick detailer, I seam to use quite a bit of the spray, can I just use water when this runs out as I think the spray will be gone before that clay bar is done. I split the bar into 2 as it seam to large???

Think its probably best sticking to the detailer,I just tended to give it a few sprays over the area I was claying.Didnt find the bar too big either, just moulded it over to my desired size. Was it the kit with 2 bars you got?

If the towel yourreferring to is the Megs Water Magnet then TBH it's not the best. I used to swear by the Water Magnet until I got a Poorboys waffle weave which is 100 times better!

I would advise against using just water as opposed to the quick detailer spray which comes with the Clay bar, water or even a mix of water and shampoo can cause the bar to break up. You can purchase more quick detailing spray relatively cheaply.

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

Is it the Water Magnet yout talking about?

Give it a machine wash first and hang to dry before using! - I dont wipe the surface, but fold the towel by half and dab away any water droplets. Lay it flat over larger areas of water to soak them up and lift straight off. I find spraying the wet surface first with quick detailer also helps!

Yeh I ment water magnet, just been browsing loads of detailing sites and posted the wrong thing.

If I'm just using the quick detailer alone will this remove the polish and sealer?

Water magnets are ok if you look after them, and get better after they have been in the washing machine a few times. There are much better products though, the Cobra Super Guzzler from Motorgeek for example, or Sonus Der Wonder towels.

If you do mean the Terry Towel, thats not really for drying.

As for clay, I use Megs Last Touch, but have previously used a strong solution of warm water with Megs Gold Class shampoo. Does the clay no harm at all.

I've got the 2 bar clay kit from Halfrauds, it only came with the 1 trigger spray. Haven't tried it yet as the weather has been pants over the last few days.

Do break the bar in half. If for no reason than if you drop it you haven't wasted a whole bar in one go.
