I reset the ECU and did the TBA and although it does feel pretty damn rapid it still doesn't appear to be hit full boost till around 4,500rpm. Anyone have any ideas ??

I thought all the N75 was there for was to control the boost and wouldn't affect the spool up as i persume 100% means the wastegate is closed ? is that right ?

Correct, however the ECU might think it's jamming the WG shut but in reality it might not be. One way to test would be to bypass the N75 and carefully take it for a spin. If the car makes boost quickly then you know you've got a boost control problem. Just be carefull not to get carried away as you'll not really have boost limit.

I still dont think it it will much good on N75, when i plug mine in the boost pressure is all over the place and the car runs like a bag of crap.

Manual boost controller works ok, but apexi is the bollocks, mine now runs 1.4 BAR and pulls very very hard hold ing 1.4 BAR to the redline.

Matt if you have a manual boost controller does this replace the N75 totally ? how hard is an Apexi to wire up ?

How do i go about bypassing the N75 mate ?

use a t piece on the 3 vac hoses...

best leave it plugged in though would have thought...otherwise it'll prob go into gimp mode, then again if the n75 is bypassed the ecu might not have the ability to do so anyway

This is an inlet restriction on the air inlet side of the turbo, or an issue with actuator rod.
My money is on inlet restriction.

But i've got the 3" ATP inlet and 3" MAF, so I'd hope not..... maybe its the shitty filter that came with the kit ?? would a bad filter really make that much difference ?

Check all the fittings onto the turbo inlet side, A small inlet restriction can make a massive difference, Not necessarily the filter, but the pipe work.
Also check the wastegate is shut on the actuator rod. Pull on the actuator rod and see if you can hear the flapper clacking on the housing. Then check the vac piping to the acuator.
Only other thing could be exhaust leak pre turbo, fecked n75, or massive post turbo exhaust restriction.
A manual boost controller vs an n75 at 100%DC will not aid spool 1 bit, unless n75 is screwed.

ok mate nice one, will check that lot tomorrow when it light

I got the same problem as you. I get full boost at 4000 rpms.
And I'm using a EBC to try and hold the boost but that doesn't work.

Here's the log.

if you want to eliminate the control side of things, clamp off the pipe to the actuator and drive "carefully" and see if it spools any faster or higher.
Be careful and steady on the throttle when trying this as you have no boost control at all.

Can show some hardware limitations this way

mines got a custom remap a wideband a/f and EGT meter, seems fine a/f ratio wise and timing looks fine with no more than the occasional 3 for CF.

Boost request has been kept on the conservative side at the moment but can be upped when its all running right.

I've checked all the connections and the intake with no obvious obstructions. Going to trying running it with out an N75 tonight to see if this makes any difference.

I'm convinced it is a problem with wastegate flap not closing fully meaning the turbo is not making good boost until higher up the rev range.

Any news mate?

I had a play with the actuator rod and managed to get it a bit better (full boost by approx 4,700rpm) still not really happy so i removed and refitted the 3" inlet to check for leaks or blockages (of which I could find none)

So i'm a bit stuck now, I'm gonna take it back to the guy that fitted and mapped it for him to check it all over for me...

I also e-mailed ATP and they reckon it may be the d/p and cat which is too restrictive... i'm not sure that this is true as there must be others with the Milltek d/p and cat which have full boost 1000 rpm earlier

Might have to try a decat pipe and see if i have any luck with this
