ok, so ive heard if you take the back box off the they sound ok? but Seat using their excellent initiative :)rolleyes: ) decided that the back box wont be separate from the centre section. so what i want to know before i angle grind the bugger off, does it sound any good or not? would also be taking the particle filter out at somepoint next week too. bearing in mind i am getting a full turbo back stainless powerflow system in a few weeks time.

would i see any better spool up times and a bit more low down torque?

why dont you just wait till you get the full system?? backbox can sound good depending on what you get id go cupra or fr backbox if i where you and yes you have to cut the exhaust!

not sure on the diesels but when i put my sports cat and cat back exhaust on before i went big turbo it sounded good and spooled up quicker and went a bit better

forget the full system.

Just tell them to chop out both boxes and the cat and weld in some stainless piping.

Far cheaper, better sound.

Have a search for mufflerectomy.

dervs dont need exhausts.

plenty of ppl running with no silencers.

the turbo is all the back pressure it needs.

thats what i was tihinking of doing, just having a middle box so its a little less noisey but dont want it to sound 'too tractor like' yes i know its a diesel and will always sound tractorish. should i increase the bore size? especially on the down pipe?

always wondered what mufflerctomy was so now will search :)
