920 miles of running in completed, best get a wiggle on with tasks before I hand it over for mapping.

The main task is to fabricate an airbox to house 90mm trumpets to feed air from the grill to the trumpets,

To do this I've made a 3D mock up out of Styrafoam to test clearences and when finished, use is as a pattern to mould fibreglass around.

Main limiting factor is the clearance under the bonnet, once the pattern was in place spaced 20mm from the throttlebodies and with the use of some parcel tape to simulate the other half of the airbox. Then applyed dollop of grease where it was real close.

When closing the bonnet it sure enough transferred to the bonnet:D
Yellow shadded area is where it will have to be notched out to make room, the webbing is around 20mm thick so lots to play with.

A few alterations to be made to the final shape and its fibreglass time.

Now to take delivery of a long overdue radiator([:@] ) so I can make the 2nd half.

allow some engine movement in the front also stu.

Yer, should have plenty once the webbing its notched it should be allright, from what Ive seen it doesn't move that much, even when it lurched on a RR

if it isnt I should be able to point the assembly down a little without the bend being too abrupt, more than that its bonnet bulge time

Noob question - Is it going to be open at the front to get air from the grill, or have an inlet at one end?

Oh, and : www.carbonology.com :D ;)

Gooawn, you know you want to :D

Both:) the bit I'm in the process of completing is permantly fixed to the tb's, then there will two different configs, the grill mounted option and a side mount intake to help reduce the noise it makes

Depending how good (or bad) job i make of it some CF may find its way onto it:)

stu can't you use an original rad and lower it ? gotta be a good 2-3 inches ?

would release room above it direct to the grill as an intake then ?

Recieved the new bling radiator a couple of weeks ago from Radtec, took 2 months to turn up but the quality is spot on, Didn't quite fit the replacment front panel I bought but as I was going to fabricate new brackets for the top this was no big deal - also lowered it a further 15mm for extra clearence.

DSCF0052.jpg

Drilled some extra flow to holes into the crash bar as only half of it would of been effectivly blocked off, also decided to mount the 16 row oilcooler in a space in front of the Radiator.

Think I'll start it tommorow, screaming kids outside is giving me a headache....
