I finished my latest little mod yesterday, so thought I'd give the car a quick sponge bath and get some pictures. I'm very pleased with the finish, but not yet 100% sure if I am going to go for black S with black grill surround, or black S with standard chrome grill surround.

The pics don't show it off too well due to the poor light (first pic gives best idea), but in reality it's got a nice glossy, shiny finish so it reflects the light really well. I thought matt-black would hide it too much and the shiny finish reflects enough light to make it obvious the S is there.

Your opinions please (good and bad)....

Fair play, wanted all opinions. I've left the back badge chrome, so when I overtake somebody they will know what's what ;)

I've seen it on black and red Leons and it looked very good. I'd imagine the same would stand true for Platinum Leons too. Not sure about silver though, as I think the Chrome S might look better. That's not to say black wont look good, but I think silver and chrome detailing works well.

I used Halfords Gloss Black spray paint. I also used Halfords grey plastic primer and their lacquer too. The Halfords paints are superb in my experience. Cheap, easy to use, give a good finish and last well :)

The gloss black wasn't for any specific make or model of car, it was just in with their spray paints.

I did think about the badgeless grill but, in my opinion, it needs something there. It looks good if it's all honeycomb, but I still think it needs something on the grill. Shiny black S badge seems to be the best compromise :)

I like I like...I'm not sure between Matt & Gloss black, have seen pic's of both & they both look good, will have to do a bit of photoshopping & compare!

Going to be doing mine soon, just waiting to see if one turns up on eBoo so I can work on that & then just swap.

Have some different idea's about to do with the colours, but will post up some pic's once I've finished.

Funny you should mention that.... I bought a brand new (second hand, just unused) one to work on so I didn't have to remove the standard one.

I've just offered my now spare one to somebody so they can do the same. Once they have finished and returned it to me, you're welcome to use it to do the same.

I don't mind lending it out to people to use, so long as I know it will come back to me. Already spoken for right now though :)
