Just got back from Canterbury. 60 miles, averaged 45mpg including road works at 50, the south circular and travelling at the speed limit. Not bad, though I have seen 50+ on longer trips. Nowhere near that if I misbehave though... 36mpg anyone?
I did Northampton to Sheffield and back this weekend...the highest I saw on the computer was 40.2mpg! There and back used just over half a tank, that would work out at 400 miles to the tank.
When I was commuting last year I'd regulary get mid to high 70s on quick ish A&B roads and that's all up and down hills here, aircon didn't make much differance, using the DC or motorway always brings it down though (especialy if there's sommthing fun to play with)
I normally average around 55mpg over a tankful. I commute 520 miles/week and it involves quite a lot of traffic.
Now the weather has got a bit warmer it seems to be creeping up slowly and the last 3 or 4 tanks I have seen 58-59mpg. Yesterday I managed 64mpg on a 75 mile journey driving at ~70mph on mainly dual carriageway.
I think the furthest I have gone on a tank before refilling is 540miles.
I don't seem to notice much difference if I have the climate on or not.
Just filled up and got 54.1mpg (2mpg over what the trip computer said) to the last tank... The tank before that only managed 35.9mpg (2mpg under what the trip computer said!) though
