correct me if im wrong (which i dont think i am), the 2.0 TFSi is turbo'd only, your thinking of the 1.4 TSFi as used in the golf GT 1.4, this engine being both supercharged and turbo'd

well i reng them yesterday! they gave me a quote of 8000 to put mine to over 600bhp for stage 3 kit... so i think that may be a little bit too much so so waiting on a price for stage 2

When I spoke before to them it was about £3k-£4k if I remember rightly.
Oh and you lose your aircon because of where the bracket is mounted but said something about dveloping a new bracket. Te 320bhp may not be 100% reliable aswell but would love to see what one would be like. The AYP engine they did it to was in a mk2 golf i think.

Have they actually ever done this?
never heard of them or the conversion, let alone any customer information on them.

Seeing is believing

I'd love to see this conversion! There isn't a great deal of space in the bay!

I would of thought 300bhp is enough!

Yeah they have done it. It's seems quite a rare thing at the moment and dont think its kicked off properly yet...like you said people want to see others with it done before they get theirs done. I went to them last week to get some work done and they seem like they know their stuff and I'll be going there for any other work I need doing.

They seem to specialise in engine conversions and superchargers, their a custom-code dealer as well!

Not worth it, turbo's are much better than superchargers.

I would'nt say that until you tried both, No lag.

And i tell you one thing, i have had some nice turbo cars in the past. but there is still nothing quite like the kick in the back you get from sitting at 5000 rpm in 3rd gear off boost then slamming your foot down with instant full boost always being there.

i was shocked when i moved over to Supercharged at just how much more drivable a supercharged car is than a turbo. much more progessive power delivery and feels a lot more like an NA car.

Oh and you simply cannot beat the whine noise, i love it. they are also louder than Turbo cars throught the exhaust due to the silencer effect you get from a turbo.

I think Bill was refering to the stage 3 kit with 600bhp and Im not sure they have done this but I know they have done the 320bhp conversion and I believe it actually ran more than the 320bhp stated but not as reliably.

And 600bhp in fwd sounds like more of a waste of £ to me. 4wd would be supercar territory speed wise Id have thought. Be interesting to see the delivery of 600bhp supercharged compared to say Bills 517bhp (prob abit more now) turboed.

Obviously for Bill the goal posts with power/torque in fwd are moved as he races and quite probably is mad!

The guy that owns storm had a mk2 golf and supercharged it to 450bhp. it had so much power that it twisted the chassis and wrote his car off.

Mammoth power like that is pointless in fwd car imo. you would need so much work to get the car to handle that sort of power.

Wouldnt be user friendly as an everyday car I wouldnt of thought. They also have a golf raylee there as well which has the golf mk5 2 ltr fsi engine. They have supercharged it and its 400 bhp.

Dont think the car ever goes out tho, think its just an example of what they can do for you

I'd keep that to yourself Steve GTi ;)

On the topic of SC's... I have to say, despite driving an LCR, I would love a supercharged car. The instant response and the linear power delivery makes them fantastic to drive.

I was taken out in a supercharged Focus ST170 a while back. That was running 300+bhp (320 I think?). The power was immense, especially for a car of that weight. But the thing that impressed the most was the instant response and pickup. Any gear, any revs, give it a poke and it went!
