Another niggle on the car has cropped up.
I usually only notice this first thing when driving the car from cold. That's not to say it doesn't happen, I just don't notice it then (or forget to listen out for it after setting off).
It sounds like what could be described as the typical suspension creaking that I see cropping up here a lot. However. It only seems to happen only gear changes between 1st-2nd and maybe 2nd-3rd.
It seems to happen just at the point where I have changed gear and am letting the clutch back up to fully engage the car. Or, say when reversing or maneuvering when you let the clutch up to bite and run on idle power or give it a little gas just to get rolling. It's at this point and when I push the clutch back down to halt the car, which obviously causes the weigh of the car to shift and you get the slight forward/backwards bouncing you would expect.
It sounds like a creaking/squeaking type noise. The only thing that makes me wonder more, is the fact I can't replicate it by kangarooing the car with the throttle or giving the brakes a tight jab. Only if I cause the same motion with clutch play does it seem to happen!
I'm beginning to wonder about the build quality of these VAG vehicles tbh. They don't seem best built in the world! People dissed my old hyundai coupe for being a hyundai, but I tell you, the b4stard never broke!
