Hi,

I'm looking for an Ibiza Cupra, Looking at around the £5000-£5500 mark, but found this one.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/154976.htm

Now the owner thinks it has revo st2 but owning an ibiza already i know a fair bit about them but he didn't know what else it had done to it as i thought st2 requires FMIC, dp and bigger MAF? He sounded very vauge on mods as if he didn't have a clue and backed up his claim of st2 by saying it is quicker than his mates ibiza which has revo st1!

2nd he said the interior (full leather) was an optional extra from new? Is this true?

3rd he said it's running around 16psi but if he boots it in 4th otr 5th it will peak at around 20psi. I always thought revo peaked very high so 20psi in every gear!

Any help appreciated.

personally i wouldnt touch it, its been kicking around for ages, he rang me in december about it and when i spoke to him, he didnt really have much of a clue of what mods it actually had. He wanted £5800 no offers in december and now over 4 months later its down to £4600, any car thats around that long in my mind there something up with it - just my opinion though

He stated he had a buyer for it but pulled out due to his mate not wanting to sell his leon cupra tdi at the time, i did see this for sale a while back and did enquire.

I may have a look at it, Just not sure if i even like the full leather!

His mates could be ****ed.

You dont need a bigger maf for stage 2.

And if you like it go and see it and check it out, seems to have all the stuff done, just make sure it has been done.

I looked at that one... loads of little bits broken (door handles etc)... and he drove it like a hoon.... (which is the main reason I walked away)

Did seam pretty quick tho.

I got good advice on here "wait for a gooden" they are about you just need to wait for the right car.

got to agree, i waited for about 7 months till i found the right one, well worth the wait, and i paid the max what you want to spend and got a car well maintained, 43k on the clock with more mods than that too.

I'm in no rush to buy, but this seems cheap for what it is.

He has now said it is a st1 revo map. I think with new wheels it will smarten it up a treat.

If you want it get it, its up to you at the end of the day and depends how much you got to spend, i spent the max i could afford and waited about 4 months for mine i was in contact with a guy from here until he was ready to sell, Got mine for 6k totally standard apart from splitter and spacers 30k on the clock FSSH totally mint! just looking at the engine bay alone would put me off abit its a state! think id try to knock him down abit if you really wanted it for the fact it has 90k aswell. also think you`ll be pretty hard pushed to get 220bhp with just a map ;) Just my 2ps worth :)

stage 2 dont require a fmic or bigger maf ... :)

you also can add this but its not essential

stage 2 requieres
4 bar fpr , other exhaust system , a other filter like green or k&n

20 psi is around 1.38 bar so i think he is running stage 2

Well i think it has a std filter, and he didn't know what a FPR was! So i think it's st1, revo on st1 will give you 20psi!

TBH IMO I'd say that the price is high for the mileage of the car... I know of someone that has just paid under 5k for a 79k one... altho it is std...

At the end of the day, as long as it has been serviced and had the cambelt done and is in good condition, I would worry about if it is Stg 2 afterwards.

I've just imported one from Jersey and have it insured, I didn't have any issues...

On another point tho.. didn't they stop building these cars in 2001??? I thought the last plate was 51 on them

Modified or std, i'm not bothered, it's putting me off that he doesn't really know whats been done to it though! And the fact it's done 90k and is only an 02 plate and the fact it's an import!
