Ok so I've had my '05 LCR for about a week and a half and I've noticed a couple of things. There's a rattle/vibration coming from the centre console (it stops if I press and hold the CD player). Also, when I'm reversing and turning I get a really loud creaking noise... can't tell exactly where it is but it seems like it's coming from around the passenger side wheel. There must be something not quite right there cause I had to drive on and off a curb the other day...I did it at about 1mph and the rear wheels and front drivers side were fine but as the front passenger side came off onto the road it made a 'different' noise... can't really describe it but sounded like something was loose. Any ideas? I know I've got loads of warranty left so I can get it sorted, just want some ideas what it could be

Thanks :)

That's the shite rear brakes isn't it?

The rattling is a "feature" of the leon if the searches are anything to go by!

I've got the same rattle from the centre console too:)

But I was kinda expecting that when I got the car.

In regards to the creaking. Search the board for squeaking/creaking/reversing etc in various combinations. I'm pretty sure I've read threads about this already. But if I remember being mainly a back end problem. No anti vibration washers on the calipers etc.

I had a similar noise coming from the Front near side of mine. It was only noticable when reversing. Turned out to be the wheel bearing. When on full lock, the wheel is not actually vertical. This allowed the disc to drag on the top of the pad and make a noise. All sorted when the wheel bearing was tightened up to the correct torque. Who had fitted said wheel bearing.....SEAT of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right ok, cheers mate... I'll give SEAT a call and see if I can drop it in sometime this week and get it sorted - hopefully that'll be all that it is. You reckon they'll have a go at sorting interior rattles too if I asked? :)

is this noise from the front wheel happening when driving normally. if so get the front anti-roll bar looked at i had same thing with my '02 lcr it turned out to be the plastic sleeve that covers the anti-roll bar under the mounting bracket had snapped and caused my anti-roll bar to rust and crack.

Nah it's not when I'm driving normally... just when I'm reversing - and this morning I've noticed it seems to be louder/worse when I'm reversing (whist turning... and braking, e.g. parking) if you know what I mean... :)

Booked into SEAT on thursday for the day and I've told them about some interior rattles I want sorting too... fingers crossed ;)
