just had remap done ,initial bhp on the rolling road was somewhat down on the official 168bhp-only turned out a lower 160bhp
tourque was actually more than the 350nm-372nm
the inprovement with the remap is 176bhp-and 417nm of torque
the remap lets you rev the engine further up the rev counter to a peak 4500 then starts to die off
so overall more power at the middle to top end of the revs which you do notice:shrug:

hi keith
it was tuned by rica tuning of bromsgrove on tuesday
it cost 400 plus vat 470
the time to do it was 3 hours as you have to strip the ecu out from under the screen in the engine bay
overall quite happy with the awsome torque but was expecting more from the bhp
yeah the 140 does tune higher as its the 1.9 tdi which is more flexiable so they tell me
the 0-62 has gone from 8.1 to a pacey 6.9 official figure
on a straight run it outpaced the cupra r through the60 to 100 mph range due to the supprrior torque

Check your dyno chart because apparently the place in Bromsgrove always gives power and torque at the wheels, not at the engine. I have my dyno chart somewhere, which I will post if I can find the stupid thing. Mine at the end of the rev range gained something like 40 hp over stock, even though the difference in peak value (if I remember correctly) was about 20 hp. The area under the graph was significantly larger, especially towards the end of the rev range. Makes it drive more like a petrol than a diesel. :)

Sorry, I am just referring to the engine not the model of the car. ie. the 140 engine is a 2.0 TDI and not a 1.9 TDI, the old FR is a 150 !

The above was also in reference to redrobo150 post.

That's the first time I've heard of a VAG group diesel giving out less hp than quoted by the manufacturer. The actual outputs are usually higher than quoted , at least in all the posts I've read. I would seriously consider getting in touch with the supplying dealer if this car were mine.
From what I've seen so far, there is no danger of me swapping my 140 TDi for the 170.
Mind you , and this is the important bit, if you're happy with it , that's all that matters. Its how it feels on the road that counts, figures don't always tell the full story.

on your chart, does it say power and torque at the wheels?

Krzys.

yeah power at wheels and torque

run file 003drf max power=176.30 max torq=413.88
run file 001 drf max power-160.31 max torq=377.16

does this sound about right to you

My torque figures on the graph are quoted in lbft (pounds foot) not NM (Newton Metres) as in your instance hence my torque is 429NM plus the figures on the second graph are at the wheels ! My flywheel power figure was 185.

flywheel power figure how do i find this out
and who did yours
allways thought it was originally under powered before remap
not much dif from the 150 fr [old model] in my opinion
