Could somebody clairify what the paint warrenty is on a Jan 2003 Seat Leon Cupra R.

I was washing the car today, and noticed that the paint on both sides has start to peel and flake away.

It is on both front/side panels, just the where the gap is, above and slighty to the side of the wheel arches.

I know the car was under warrenty for 3 years, and that run out 1 year ago. Ive been told that paint is under 12 yr warrenty, but also been told it is under a 3 yr warrenty.

anybody know anything about this?? i will ring seat some time tomorrow, just after some advice before i ring and tips from people who had this problem before!!

thanks

Hello mate, yeah I had a similar problem with my LCR, basically some paint was flaking away from the O/S front side skirt.
So I told the local stealers and they said they will see if it can be done under warranty. The bloke sent an e-mail to a guy who specialises in this area and its will be entirely his decision. Anyway, waited a few weeks and then got a call telling me that the work had been authorised. So, they got the car booked into a SEAT approved body shop and I got it back the same day all donr and I must say an excellent job.

So, yes you should be able to get it done under warranty I reckon.

Was that within 3 years waranty period though?
I am quite unimpressed with the quality of some of the paintwork on mine, it seems very thin and crap in places, especially on the skirts and bumpers etc...
I also have an Ovni LCR and the bad areas seem almost green in places.
