As well as the wheels and brakes, i want to get the engine bay looking sweet.

Does anyone know of a good spot to buy an engine cover and a set of red coloured pipes. Even some shiny ally caps would be cool as a bonus.

Ive decided on the remap for the power, so I gotta make the bay look sweet somehow!

All help suggestions and criticisms welcome, please dont just post here saying 'do a search its loads of stupid boring fun!'' THis is a forum for talking and communicating with each other!

All the best.

And remember if you sleep with your sister, no baby clothes will fit your kid!

forget the engine cover, get the rocker cover off and get it polished and or painted. plastic just hides it.
Forge or samco could supply you with as much silicon piping as you could ever need too, red, blue or black

Sweet! Is the cover just for fun, it looks a lot more intense under there, with things going on and stuff, than my golf did. so i wasnt sure if it was wise to take it off.

Ive been looking at a set of Samco hoses and Ill probably go that way, since you seem to know your kit cordobabrendy.

thanking you!

Here's a starter for 10, given the only thing i can do now is fit the forge coolant hose kit!

My engine cover is off becuase it wont fit with the d/v pushed higher by the TIP fitting, it was rattling on the strut brace and giving a horrendous vibration through the cabin
getting a split-r valve will solve the problem some what as it lies on its side compared to the 007p so will probably be able to fit a cover on

*could still get cover over it all if i DIDNT have the strut brace*

Rick what about a small strip of black sticky backed foam on the top of the cover but under the brace. Should stop the vibration.

Rick, thats looking sweet, how much was that hose kit? and where from?

Is that a problem everyone has with strut braces, or is it because of the extra bits under the bonnet?

It was the d/v that vibrated off the strut brace, the problem with the engine cover was it was wearing away at the top vac line into the d/v, hence why i had to replace it and remove the engine cover

Hose kits are as follows

forge 5 piece boost hose kit
forge turbo intake pipe
then i got a range of vac line hosing and spent a few hours tracing lines around the engine bay and replacing them

only forge coolant hose kit left to get now

you were after silver caps etc, you can get these either from forge or neuspeed

Just a bit of a reminder. Your engine cover is there for a purpose. But removing it doesn't do a great deal of harm. Just allows more exposure for your coilpacks / i.e. dirt etc, and the rest of the engine.
The front of the engine cover is tipped and shaped down, forcing it away, but still vented for your engine/coilpacks to breathe :)
Seat for instance recommend them, they also recommend the bonnet seal.
But as I said, it doesn't make a great deal of difference!

I have to admit, I do really like the Forge one, but there is feck all chance of me buying one unless it comes up seriously cheap second hand!
