this is because the trottle body are control by motor NOT by wire!. So you cant adjust them manualy!
when new trottle is added or a old one cleaned it may get out of liine. so when you reconnect it will adjust to the right setting!

dissconnecting battery would mean it gets realigned...

only if you allow it to surely. For instance you have to wait for it to be realigned before starting the engine, i thought that if you just turned the engine straight on without waiting a minute or so it wudnt be aligned correctly

iif you dont let it align , you need to disconnect the battery again and reconnect. Then let align properly!

yes you are correct, when you realign it, ie dissconnect the battery, you need to reconnect, then leave ignition on with engine not running for a few mins to allow the realigning to be completed.
(if not sure 5 mins is plenty, but you may here a high pitched sound during realignement).
NOTE: this should be done on a COLD engine.

Metals expand with heat, although only slightly. So re-aligning the TB when it is warm may cause it to be incorrectly positioned due to the expansion then shrinking as it cools.

ace top pice of info!!! will realign mine again because my engine was slightly warm when i did mine (temp sensor was on cold though) engine was warm 2 touch, would this make a diferance?

Probably would to a slight extent. Alot would depend on the metal the TB components are made of.

Best off doing it when it is cold (i.e. stood all night) then you know it is right. Not saying you will notice any difference but all the same best to do it right.

theres proberly loads of reasons mate. tb`s can get gunky and stick. thus changing the size and operation. so its an ever changing part but vital to running and needs recalibrating.

going on the heat/cold expansion point.. i wonder if summer /winter temps affect that calibration???
