Wafted out to overtake a wagon and a few cars on the way home tonight and as I did a 5 series popped out behind me. There was a good long line of cars but the road was straight as a die for a mile. So I thought what the hell I'll give the old girl a blow out and knacker my 54mpg.

Anyway my suspicions were confirmed when I shifted to 6th after coming from low end 4th up through the gears and the BM touring started to real me in. I decided to back off and let it past.

The grey haired old git wafted past in the 535D, man they ****ing savage. My old mans just in the process of selling his 530D for the 335cd. DMS remap anyone.

BTW, I kind of expected it. Although I have polished off a c270 cdi entering the M1 the other day with fair ease.

I don't race on the public roads btw....

but an E46 m3 is 14-16K a 330D coupe ( why have a saloon) is 17k ,

did you know thw 3.0 and the 3.5 are the same engine near enough...from what i can work out in thw brochure its still 3000cc output

Engine is the same but the 335d has a twin turbo system fitted which makes it drive like a totally different car.

I love the 335d engine but not a fan of the car. Now if i could get a 335d engine in my 4WD Audi now that would be a beast of a car.

LOL, too many Audi/VW group lovers on this forum.

My Dad's getting rid of my mums Golf Mk4 gti in favour of a 03 330d. I'll see if I can talk them into a remap. Looks like they might be owning a fleet of bmw's soon. Rather strange for a man who has always disliked the BMW. That said he thinks my mum's golf is the worst built car they've had for years. Its in the garage every other week.

I think the 535D looks awesome, the 335d not so, but the 335Cd looks rather special.
