Hi Chaps!!
I have now been living with my nice shiny crono yellow 07 cupra for a week covered nearly 900 miles so i thought i would just post my observations, just in case you were interested! ;-)
Driving it i am impressed by the levels of grip it has, although i find that getting use to the steering changing its weight at speed, for want of a better word takes some getting use to. Maybe if anything a bit light at low speed, but the wife won't complain so much when trying to park the thing!
I managed to have it for one day and ended up kerbing the alloy Ouch!!! so needless to say not flavour of the month with she who pays the bills, but i phoned the dealer and they had a man in his white van packed full of little pots of paint arranged to sort that. I have to say he did a wonderful job, and you cannot tell that its been repaired!
As for the power of the car i find it pulls well, especially around 4000 rpm, but you have to be dam quick with the gear change, the revs die off really a lot quicker than my old Alfa. This can make for a jerky drive, or is this my crap driving (no comments please!) as long as you keep the turbo spinning, sort of taking me back to my old TT days it perorms well, and the torque is very noticable. I dont think much of the "seat sound", but this is because i was rather spolit with a V6 and four exhuasts on my old car, it just sounds like a normal car to me now!
I find it all to easy to slip tha dam thing into 2nd rather than 4th when driving at a pace, and i dont like the fact that you can push down the gear knob all the time, i prefer the old collar pull up jobbie, no problems with the shape of it as i've seen noted before.

I had mats with mine but the dealer didnt put the posts in to secure them, so when i took it back for the wheel reapir, i managed to sweet talk the lady in parts ;-)
No problems with the "thick" pillar at the front, again no worse than my old car
I like the bog standard stereo does for me, and the fact i can now play mp3 through it, as i never had that before. the only option i went for was a dvd for the sprog in the back, thats the best £700 i have ever spent! keeps her nice and quiet
seats...i would of liked leather but cloth is nice, maybe not supportive enough for my long legs, being 6ft 2, but grippy and i dont get an aching backside after being it 2 hours.
I was in two minds about some sort of external styling like the aero kit, but i prefer the slightly understated look, it gets enough attention as it is being yellow! So i'm going to spend my money on getting a remap, the dealer is getting their demo remapped, and i'm awaiting to see the result from that, and of course taking it for a spirited drive! then go from there.
I don;t like the 2 white dials one black one on the dash...what was that all about, but not going to hung up about it.
Love the headlights bright clear and i like the funky check it goes through when you start up the car and turn them on.
