Well since i don`t know what " that thing on top of the driver side suspension " is as these techie names confuse me so much best thing to do would be do a search in the TDI section as it has been discussed several times. It also depend if you get a mechanical or electronic gauge Mechanical is cheaper and easier to fit but not so accurate and can be noisy.

todays update...

yesterday i had a look over the engine to see if anything looked off. but couldnt see much. decided i needed to go see the revo man about getting a boost gauge... he pretty much said it would be a nightmare so he dont want to do it.. :(

am i best to go to allards surely they done it loads of times wont take them that long?

also was thinking the only other way to check is with vag com. but revo man wants £38 to do it :( and my ebay cheap thing dont work so i need a local to help me out or some one point me in the direction of a cheap one please

If you want a mechanical boost gauge fitted any local tuning company should be able to fit one as it is quite a simple job if you know what you are doing. Most of the time is spent taking the dash a part so as to get through the bulkhead then putting the dash back toegther again.
