If they car is playing up and not running right it should be reverted back to standard. A refund should be given or at atleast some of it! to be fair!
Its like a waste of mone spent on something that you didnt expect it to last!

both of them should come mutal decision and that every could live with!

Before everyone jumps on the bandwagon, this is a private customer grievance, noone can bring this to a healthy conclusion except dodson and pete.Noone but these two actually know what this"not running right" actually means.

To be fair i work away mate,so the fact the car was returned two weeks after the crash is not my fault.i cant jus come along instantly,id also add that i dont hav internet access properly and again workin away i haven't drove the car properly the last two weeks and the day i test drove it on the day was for the change at the bottom end of the map not the top end of the map which was impossible to test on roads near you.

how much did the map cost?

sorry but to be honest, i have never heard of BAS remaps and have surfed SC.net, clubgti.com, briskoda.net, SE.net (when they were about) and a few others for a number of years and still not heard of BAS remaps

why would you not go to Jabba, Revo, Star Performance etc etc?

IMO distance is not an issue if you are a true petrol head, hence i travelled to Jabba to get my car mapped and i live over 4 hours away.....WHY? cos of their reputation and the fact i know i will get an excellent job done

i am in NO way slating BAS, but to me, if you spend so much time, effort and money on your car, why go to one of the less talked about tuners?

Not runnin right means its hesitant wen acceleratin and really lumpy and horrible to drive.it was doin it at low revs which pete admitted to,this got changed by puttin standard map at lower revs and i got told that he 'didn't hav time to do other bit' on that day.i left happy at bottom end tweaks but not at top end.

the 20vt doesnt really have a top end though, has anyone suggested you try another remapped cupra? it could be that you are expecting a little much from a remap without going down the turbo back exhaust system and tip etc.

Agree with brendy on this one, should be between customer and provider here, folk may add their tuppence worth but then things tend to get out of hand as a previous thread last week will testify.

Sorry but IMO any tuner doin a half job, or saying "i don't have time" is just plain unprofessional....if there is not enough time to set the car up completely then it should be done when there will be enough time

if i pay some one so amount of money i want the whole job done! Not half now or half later. Thats why we get the car booked in so the engineer has enough time to carry out the task before his next apointment.

If my car started playing up like that i would be upset, as i would have to make constant visit to get it sorted.
The car should be fully checked and examined before it is returned to the customer.

my point entirely

im sure BAS autos are very good, but we all know how quickly reputations can be damaged from threads like this

if i was the tuner i would only ever do a job if i had more than enough time, so there could be no repurcussions and the customer leaves 100% satisfied

fair enough if there may be an issue afterwards, but to first only half do the job, and then there are issues with the car, kinda shooting yourself in the foot in the first instance due to only half a job being done as stated

i hope both parties will get it sorted and service will resume as normal

Harvey - I'm surprised you haven't heard of Bell Autos as they are quite well known in VAG circles. You don't often hear of them referred to as 'BAS' though, which may be why you're unsure? Bell Auto Services is the full name.

Thanks for bringing your side of the story to us Pete.

If i was in his shoes i would have phoned yourself straight away and worked with you to find a solution.

Now it seems he has just had enough and wanted it back as it was. Although to ask for a full refund is a little unfair i feel. After all BAS has encountered costs in performing the remap in the first instance.

I put it down to being a victim of Marketing and having my head filled only with the bigger boys i.e. Revo, Jabba etc

Personally I think this thread should be closed. Yet again another public bashing because the customer can't be bothered to get in touch with the company and sort it out in the proper way.

Well said, I don't see why people feel the need to post threads like these until they have taken ALL the actions they could with the company they feel they have to bring down on a public forum. The exact same thing happened in thread in the TDI section where one person who had a "bad" experience with a tuning company felt the need to slate the company. Have full tests been run on the car with VAGCOM, surley someone on here would be able to figure out the problem with the car from the logs, or give the tuner more time to look into it?
