Both suggestions are already on the cards.
Saving for coilovers as we speak and (although I do like them rims) planning some white Compo's :funk:

Compo's???? My experience Compo's are a no, no now..... There’re paint job on them isn't the best and Compomotive have admitted it themselves.

The lip on two of my alloys are flaking so I'm slowly getting a polished lip and the rear alloys, the paint chipped off when a stone hit it and I washed the car the other day and with just a hose pipe it removed more of the paint [:@]

Speedlines or OZ Racing rims I would recommend

p.s.

My mate got an Evo with Compo's and his are doing the same :censored:

Here's a pic of them on... they on the early pages of the thread somewhere to.

ome lovely mk2s going about i didnt even know were on the site!
does anyone agree you really need to space the back wheels out a bit, ive just put my old ones back on my cupra and they look reall tucked in the arches, looks a bit lost imo..

how many folk have got spacers on and by how much (front and back) and is it worth it?

Lol mate, you are so blind :D Look 3 posts above and you'll see Ben's post :
"Rears are spaced 40mm and the fronts 20mm now, looks a lot better with the arches filled."

As for the wheel being tucked away inside the arches..... I totally agree. They definitely need spacers. I'm after a set of 20-30mm spacers for the rears, but have no £££ at the moment

ben16v are those side skirts standard?

I'll answer for him. They are standard mate. I think they only came with the GTI's. Maybe only the 16v GTI's. You can still get them from the dealership but I think they are quite pricey.

EDIT: I just noticed you have a prefacelift GTI. They only came on the post-facelift GTIs

My Mk2!

Hi all,

Time to put some pics of my 8v up! Finally I've had the time to clean it (Who wants to show off a dirty car?!). Some of you might recognise it ;)
