well hopefully, i will have a clean slate, when the gap insurance pays the difference between outstanding finance and the amount the insurance pay out. But tbh, i just want a 1.2. am not interested in hybrid turbos, getting 300+ bhp from a fwd car any more :( driving fast or modifying doesnt interest me anymore. I just dont see the point. Like i have said to others, this has affected me as a person, and as a driver. Also need to get a yrs ncb atleast before i think of anything bigger than a 1.2

Ok ere goes :foot:

Matey if you take your eyes off the road in a 1.2 for a few seconds you're as likey to do the same thing again. It wasn't the car / the power / hybrid turbo / dodgy fuel / butterfly flapping wings in taiwan etc etc etc you get the picture :)

If you want something nice, get something nice, if you want to run around in a 1.2 then do that, if it's purely for financial reasons then that's that - it's not because you've lost interest, at least not permanently.

To be honest full credit to you for putting your hand up and saying what happened was your fault - having done the hard part you're going to have to get over it and get on with it. I'm quite sure there's nowt wrong with your driving skills, you've just had a temporary loss of faith as a direct result of being a little careless. We've all done it, it's just that not all of us get caught out.

Now please stop with all the tear jerking comments, you're making me feel  :)

Got a nice yellow Punto HGT you can have for £3500 fella!! haha

Plenty of nice cars out there these days with 1.2/1.4 engines, look good, and move around alright, I think 6-9months you will be after more power, but I don't doubt this has affected you big time,.....

Hopefully you'll still come meets etc, (Rana still has a SEAT afterall!!)

Spanny, think about this before you do it. I done that many years ago. Had my Punto GT and was blasting it around like a tit all the time, i was the local ruuuude boy. Had to spend loads on new turbos everytime i broke it. Well took the stance, no more power for me, i had become a tit ( well a bigger tit) then decided to go get a punto sporting mk2, a 1.2 mmmmm. Well i had it for 3 months, got myself in to more dangerous positions than ever thanks to not being able to overtake overs and get out of situations. With in 3 months i had chopped it in for a Punto HGT.

If you are going to change down, then consider something like a 1.4 at worst. Or maybe just a 100 tdi. As much as I like the ibiza, i would urge anyone to steer clear of the 1.2/ No offence to 1.2 owners...... sorry. But it is a horrible engine.

i hope you reconsider.
