Stereo in "SAFE" mode

The display on the Aura stereo is reading "SAFE" and does not work now.

Looking at through the manual, it seems to require the code to get the stereo to work, but the radio card in the handbook does not have the code written in it.

Other than going to a dealer, is there any other way of unlocking the stereo.

Nope trip to the dealer. You could try Seat Customer Services

I did do a search prior to posting this thread. The ones I found gave instructions on what to do if you know your 4 digit code. I don't.

Rang Seat, they need the serial number of the head unit and proof of ownership. They will then tell me what my 4 digit code is.

When I take the head unit out tonight, I may be lucky, the code may be written on the head unit.

Unlikely me thinks....Its usually on a card with the owners manual, but hey you might get lucky

As the code is not in the manual on the card, will now have to contact Seat.

check THOROUGHLY your handbook and all documents, it might be tucked inside 1 page

i had my battery d/c and the code written in handbook was wrong, then remembered past owner had it changed under warranty so i rooted through every page i had to avoid going to the dealers-and it was in there on a small business card

My Stereo is stuck on safe mode until Seat UK send the dealers the right code for it

On the upside means i get to hear the turbo more

Im gonna dig up an old thread!!

Basically.......have agreed part ex for the leon, so spent today taking things out.

Put the aura back in, plonked in the code, now all i have is a little 2 and SAFE?

Iv read the Aura book about 10 times now, still no sense from it.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Input the code then press and hold the program button, should beep then the stereo come to life if not you got the wrong code.
If you get locked out of the stereo remove the keys turn on the radio and leave for an hour then you can re-try.

Right ok, the story is that the aura was put in at 1700 yesterday, code put in, i think i then pressed the wrong button and now its been like the picture states since.

I have now left the radio ON, as lee says, and will return in an hour or so.

I rang up seat customer services and said that it says in my manual that if the code is lost seat will supply you with it free on charge and got it done free of charge at my local dealership, they wernt very happy mind you lol

Luckily im all sorted, they were 3 codes in the paperwork, for some strange reason!

Least im not going to be in silence for two days now.

Hello, i am also sorry for bringing this back up again. But i'm ripping my hair out now...!!!

In Jan i got a flat battery and my radio went into "safe mode" when i turn my car on it reads "safe" for a few seconds and then reads "2000"

I dont have a manual, but i have a code printout from previous owner. I have tried this and nothing happens.

I have also been following instructions i read on here...... Still nothing happens.

I took my car to the Seat dealers in Leicester TWICE and they said i have to leave my car ON for the screen to go from 2000 to 3000 to add the code, and it could take anything from 10min to 10hours, tried this three times and i get another flat battery after about 4hours.

So i borrowed a mains 12v plug in thing that u attach to to your battery to keep it charged up, with the key turned twice i got another flat battery twice.

At this moment in time it is plugged into the mains and reads 4v and the key is turned once, radio is lit and nothing else. it has now been like that for 6hours and still nothing has happened.

I can change the numbers on the face using the skip tract buttons and still nothing happens.

It has been just over 4months now and i still cant get it working.........!!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE.
