jabba had my car a while and nick used it as his daily for a few days to bed everything in.

powers incredable isnt it.

and on mine it seemed to get even better 2 months on! becomes a different car again.

One other thing that i forgot to mention, Mike at Jabba has also changed my traction control system. He has done it using the A3 quattro set up. Now it doesnt come in so violently.
He tells me that with the quattro set up once the front wheels start to spin, it automatically transfers more power to the rear wheels. So with my car it is fooling the traction control system thinking it is 4WD, and when it does start to break traction it tries to put the power to the rear wheels (which have no drive) but reduces power to the front wheels thus making it feel alot more smoother once the wheels start to spin, but still allowing me to progress quite quickly.

Do you actually manage to get that power down through FWD?

My LCR is still 225 and i struggle to get the power down sometimes.

I'm considering the IHI conversation, otherwise it will be a JDM STI because of its AWD.

I love the LCR but the pull of AWD is strong, convince me to keep my LCR, PLEASE!

The honest truth is no, 1st ,2nd and 3rd are a handfull but when it does get grip it is a real flyer!. :-o
Go for the conversion you will not be dissapointed!
And remember youve always got the low boost setting to aid traction in the first 3 gears.

Stick with Seat all the way. I dont think enough people give Seat Love.

I feel that for BHP of that magnitude you need power delivery thorough 4 wheels.

Maybe i'm wrong but don't you struggle getting the most out of the power you have?

only from standing starts.... which is 0-fast dashes is your thing then yea, 4wd, and a box full of clutches :p

rolling on the road however.... you would be surprised how tractable a VF34 is... its not a wham bam in ya face dollop of power (technical term :D ) but preogressive shove all the way.

extremely tractable that needs to be driven to be fully appreciated

been there done that

go for higher and higher and yea, you would wish for 4wd to make full use of high powers, but 300 odd bhp is handled surprisingly well.

Yep, all the time! Reason being I am always trying to bury it, but thats where all the fun is. Since I had the LSD put on it has made a big big difference. I have never driven a S3, so in a way cant comment. Also you will find that you dont necessarily need 340 ( but its good to have)

Also taken it on the track a few times and gets its power down very nicely down the high speed straights and does cause a LOT OF surprises for other drivers.
On saturday I gave it to an instructor who was ex-racer and oh MYYYYYYYYYY god, he really blew a few cars out!

technically: dont know. But after being fitted you are much more able to put your foot down and drive without the traction control butting in . makes a big difference for taking corners and wanting to put your foot down going round a big curve. Jabba are the best people to speak to about how it all works.

How does the LSD affect the traction?

the after market diff have a stronger holding point until they will break free and let the other wheel turn on its own. so for e.g. when you give it some in 2nd it will hold the shafts together there for making it kind of a symmetrical 2wd, rather than the asymmetrical 2wd it is when the wheels spin up. of course after a certain amount of pressure, the after market diff will break free, but allot later than the std one. Thus allowing us to get much better traction.

im not expert but a guru like bill will be able to give a better answer!
