Scorch mode on: ;)

Short of driving around with the bonnet up, I don't see how any induction kit can be considered "chavish". Nobody sees it.

Scorch mode off.

I read some where that a guy with only a dynatwist as a modification got a revo and he got an extra 8 BHP. Fact of Fiction i dont know. But ill go Dynatwist all the time. Its got its name because it propeller like fins at the top of the cone make a votex so it can suck the air in faster.

CHAVISH are you having a laugh... Most of the rallying teams use Green Cotton Induction system because they are the best. Its s show on automotive knowledge to have one. The only chavish induction systems are Pippercross - Especially the vipers.. Closely followed by KnN.

don't be envious of the BMC, i'm envious if the ram air! and yours look sweet [B)] the BMC , does look the part but is quiet, the spool up noise and DV echo is nice and better than boggo airbox, but the ram air i hear is a better noise [roar!!] any idea where i can here a clip of the ram air? cheers.......:D

I will "try" and get a decent sound clip for you mate, i have tried in the past and it hasnt worked to well, but i have a new camera now with just sound recording on and i havent tried it yet, so it may be a little better than the previous one i had a go with. Will see if i can get it up for you tomorrow.

If you read other posts you see i was just retaliating to other users calling good induction kits Chavish. Also how many novas do you see with a KnN sticker or a Pippercross sticker on them??

i think the word "chavish" is the wrong word to describe the dynatwist. in my opinion i think they look cheap. having the clamp on display like that makes it look a bit nasty. i'm sure it does the job but i wouldn't have one.

Bang In The Middle.
Characteristics of the top three.

Can someone define how Dynatwist,Ram & BMC all sound. (Not the obvious) but say deep, loud, low ect....How do they deliver their sound

(I think im swaying BMC)

Personally, I couldn't care less what an induction kit looks like. I'm not in the game of engine bay detailing. As far as I'm concerned, whats under the bonnet isn't there to look good, its there to propel me down the road. My induction kit could look like a little pink elephant and I'd be happy just as long as it provides the turbo with the maximum volume of clean air possible.

Foxes,

The RAM air is the loudest of the three (this could be construed as being "Chavvy"), Dynatwist in the middle and the BMC CDA is the quietest. In terms of depth of sound, the Dynatwist gives a deep and very throaty burble when you push the throttle more than about half way down. Its a bit reminiscent of a Hot-Rod type engine on idle but not as rough. Think big carbs/throttle bodies and venturi intakes. The Dynatwist also gives a good "dumping" sound when coming off the throttle, I'm running mine with a Forge 007P.

Nice one C.Ross.
That is what im looking for. I want the sound to be just that.
I was under the impession the BMC was louder/deeper

Does the sound suit the Cupra/R (if you know what i mean) like its been tweaked, but in a nice tastefull way. (Grown-up like)

BMC gives a bit of a rumble at low revs when you use the fast pedal, the rumble then fades off and you hear the turbo spool and fizz then the DV echo at gear change or when you back off, my car is standard boost still with standard bosch DV, no doubt an better DV and a remap will make the spool up and fizz louder and the DV echo even more noticeable.

the fizz and DV echo is nice, but there's little induction "roar" and rasp, which i would have liked.

build quality and looks are spot on, plus i'm sure it gives a little extra power and torque - feels as though it pulls a little harder and revs freer

It does sound like a quality piece of kit. Its a nice grown-up induction roar/growl, definitely befitting the stature of the Cupra or Cupra R.

Slinger : I went out and tried to do some soundclips for you this afternoon, and they were rubbish mate, the exhaust note just drowns the induction kit out tbh, my advice would be to just pop along to a localish meet (there are a few near you) or pop down to the essex meet im gonna do in March, and blag a ride in a few cars that have different kits on mate, sorry i couldnt get ya a good clip, they are just way to quiet to hear. :(
