Mine made 251 matt on a Rolling that matches Jim's run for run so that throws your bhp figure out the window too if what your saying is true.:p

Hooch we'll do a rr at marlin when your ready!
they seem pretty good judging from the scn rr days there

really?

I think there's better places out there that have at least half a clue for what VAG Turbo'd cars need to get repeatable & realistic dyno runs.

Can recommend JKM. Prob abit of a trek for you but they got very accurate figures.
Corrado vr6 storm got 190.2 bhp
Ibiza GTI 2.0 8V got 119.5 bhp
Both standard.
Everyone I saw there was most impressed.

and others that went said the place was crap....

who's most right? who knows.

have you been there?
we all know not every rr is accurate but maybe as hooch has already had one a second opinion wouldnt hurt.

I havent been there before, in fact not been to any rr so my opinion is unbiased, its nearby and i didnt think it would be anymore a dyno lottery than any other rr

non turbo cars are easier to get factory figures for...
think load applied on non-turbo and its ability to push against the rollers vs turbo car which needs a load (as does the me7 ecu) to dial in the requesit load hence boost etc.

my own rule of thumb is to dyno in a gear (4th/5th/6th) and compare acceleration time from 2K revs to rev limit revs on the road in same gear, and compare to the rollers time. (if nothing else its a constant, where dyno loads and acceleration times rarely are)-Dyno Lottery (TM)

Agreed Bill. Many of the turbo cars got figures that were very similar to runs at JKM before and other runs at other RR.
Surely the 260bhp from a k03...which we all know is ridiculous...could have been a dodgy run and some of the other figures could be accurate. Even if say half the runs had gave silly figures and should be disregarded then the other 50% could be fairly accurate.

Well you can't really but some of the figures seem ok and others silly.
Same here but the other odd thing is that with the silly figutres why didn't the operators of the dyno comment about it if there might have been a problem.

and a jbs04 claimed to have ran 290bhp the week before pulled 266bhp!?

mine could be under read...but could also be over read
