How do you turn off volumetric alarm?

I've got a Mk4 Ibiza FR 05 plate.

I have a problem leaving my dog in the car because I can't get the volumetric alarm sensors to turn off.

My car doesn't have a button on door pillar. The manual suggest I should press the lock button twice when I lock the car. I've tried that but my dog still manages to set the alarm off.

I've read other posts and found that I could turn off the volumetric alarm with vag com but I don't really want it turned off all the time.

Anyone got any ideas?

How do you know if the volumetric sensors are off? or do you just assume it's off if you press the button twice?

Another thing I was thinking is does the car have vibration sensors? If my dog started jumping around, maybe that's what sets it off.

Try pressing the button twice less rapidly. I've found if you press the button in quick succession it sometimes misses the second push - drives me up the wall trying to unlock all the doors sometimes!

Depends on the car - my FR doesn't have a button down by the bonnet release. It's a double press on the remote to disable alarm

I was convinced that I didn't have an alarm after reading the manual and not finding the switch by the drivers seatbelt. But after reading this, I checked and sure enough there is the volumetric alarm off button above the bonnet release. I would never have noticed that otherwise.

I had previously locked the car while in it and waved my arms about, but got no reaction from the alarm. Now I have found that button, I tried agian and it must take 30secs or so to arm, as I had it going off in the work car park.

I am pretty sure I can turn it off by pressing the button twice as well. When you do this, I think the little flashy light in the door doesn't flash.

I have a Q though. The volumetric alarm button is illuminated red and when I press it there is no change to the colour and nothing on the dash to tell me whether it is se to 'on' or 'off'. How do I tell whether it is armed or not, short of experimenting???

I don't think there is any indication to tell you that it is on. You press the button and lock the door as normal. I think there is a time limit to do this but I'm not sure. When you unlock the door the button resets to the default off position.

I suppose the only way to test it is to lock somebody in the car with the button pressed and see whether it makes any difference.:D

does the car make another lock sound when you do the double lock on the remote? i have to wait a few seconds to be able to do the lock again and then it makes another lock noise.
i cant tell by the red light on the drivers door as the garage has ripped the 2 wires out of the connector behind the door card so it doesnt work

Yes the sound on the second press is the deadlocks deactivating.

rgr that! thanx bro i just wanted to be sure it made a noise because the idiots in the garage damaged the cable that connects the alarm light up on the door card and i cant go by that because i cant see if the light goes off as it doesnt work lol
