engine running question

my 1.4 99 plateis not running correctly, more specifically when running at lower rpm's below around 2k or so

idling is not correct its not smooth and reversing down the drive cause the rev's to drop from normal to around 500 or less and it jumps back up again

it was doing this a few weeks ago but much worse, then had the rotar arm and dist cap replaced and much better but still not right.

car is just coming up to 80k on the clock and has been about 12k since last service so going to get it done again, could this be ignition leads need replacing as i am not sure they ever have been

I have a similar problem with mine. it seems to get stuck around 500 rpm sumtimes until it bounces back up again or i give it a bit of gas. If sum1 knows or could spread sum light on the matter i wud appreciate it too.

if it was serviced 12k ago, i would suggest the plugs need changing depending what type/price plugs were put in.

well i changed the plugs only a few months ago myself, so have done a max of 5k since then
