Turning off ABS

my pedal keeps ''jamming'' its done it twice in about a month, it feels like theres a brick under it and it wont brake... not cool when your driving behind someone, figured if i just turned it off id be alright.
Does the ABS work all the time then? i mean in a sense that it works what ever pressure you apply to the brakes?

It should only come on when it senses a wheel has locked, in which case it alters the pressure going to the brakes in order to stop the lock-up.

mine stays on most of the time ;)

Mine comes on and off alot. When it stays on, if i pump the brakes and then turn the car off and restart the ABS light normally goes off. I think it may have to do with the fatc that i bought the cheaper sensor (£6) rather than the original one(£32). Ive put it down to the cheapness of the sensor and dirt sitting on the sensor (at leats thats what i assume lol)

mines doing the same - ABS works fine and pedal pressure is fine first time but a right bitch after that takes loads of heaving to stop

push down and rev/start up and pedal sinks so servo is ok so looks like mine needs a master cylinder now
