Door Lock problem

Hi all,

I dont know if its the cold or a mechanical thing but when i press the button on the key fob to unlock the car the drivers door sometimes wont unlock. the passenger door and boot always do, but the drivers door doesnt!! the lock motor whirs and sounds ok, but the lock pin doesnt always rise (and therfore unlock the door). Is it nothing or something to take to the boys at TMC in Canterbury to look at for me?

On a side note does anyone know what the humming/whirring noise is when you actually open the drivers door for the first time? I cant seem to find where exactly it comes from and its only on for a couple of seconds. Im just interested as to what this noise is for!

The cars a 1.2 ibiza S 52 plate

IIRC the whirring noise when you open the door is the fuel pump priming the system...

sounds like you need a new central locking motor in the drivers door

you will prob find a gear with a tooth missing or somthing like that

The weird thing is it doesnt do it all the time and i know if i take it to be looked at it just wont co-operate!! i may take it to be looked at anyway. does anyone know if its covered by warranty? I bought the car in december so it has this month on dealer and i also bought the 1yrs warranty extra so i hav a warranty if it is covered (i hope it is)
