Finally my Emocion Red FR tdi is on the drive!! Drives as well as it looks, the wheel feels so chunky and solid the 18'' wheels really look ace and the chrome boot strip finishies it off nicely. Two strange things i've noticed, maybe someone can enlighten me.

1) Sometimes when i take the key out the car and lock it the radio is still on!? I turn it back on and off again and its fine? Any ideas?

2) Also i have had the ipod connector fitted. I have a real interference noise on the aux channel and can barely hear the music over it? Is the connector supposed to charge the ipod to ? Because mine doesn't

Good choice mate - glad you're chuffed!

Got mine in red last week with 18s and am well impressed

Go into the radio settings 'prog' button and you'll find an option to have radio on or off when you turn ignition off

Can't help with the ipod - I got bluetooth instead

Any pics yet - I'd like to see the chrome trim on the back

If you did take the ipod connector, then you find the ipod USB plug under the other front seat. Aux is to be used for other mp3 players, not ipod. Aux is not able to charge a player but USB is.

This is strange. My ipod connector is next to the hazard light switxh infront of the gearstick. I can hear the music through the speakers but only with loads of interference. It is a proper ipod connector though that pushes into the bottom of the ipod

Well, I have not seen the ipod connector, but I know it's USB and I know what that looks like. When I did buy my Cupra, they told me the connector will come under the other front seat.

They told me also that when I take the ipod connector, I will not get the AUX anymore. That sounded funny, but maybe it means it will not work properly. Dunno, before I get my own car. The AUX is as standard located between the front seats.

I've got the B/tooth and the Ipod connection on my FR, the Ipod connector is under the drivers seat, and does charge the unit whilst on the move.

I'm not too sure as to why your unit is located elsewhere?

Hmm, good question, gimme 5 mins to check as I need to go remove the Ipod from the car anyway......

Yeah, thats kinda the problem with the under-seat connection....You forget that it's still there when you get out of the car

Anyway, just checked the display and when you press the aux/cd button the display shows "CDC" when the Ipod is playing, and if you press it again, the CDC remains, but the area where the track number is normally displayed shows "No CD"

HTH

When i press aux/cd is goes to aux and then plays the ipod with loads of shite in the background. If i press it again it says no cd. I'm going to drop by the garage tomorrow. I have an 1st gen ipod min but it is updated with itunes 7,etc. Maybe some dodgy wiring. What gen ipod is yours?

I've tried both a Nano, and the original Ipod-mini on the connection and they both work OK. Biggest problem is getting the units in and out of the plastic cradle thats supplied with the Ipod Kit. There's 3 or 4 different versions supplied, each designed to fit their respectice Ipod type, but they grip the sides of the Ipods VERY tightly.

See thats strange to, as mine has no cradle just a connector straight into the bottom of the ipod and then its sits hidden. Really weird

Do you connect your ipod to an AUX or USB connector? This is important.

I'm sure that if you have the Factory Fit Ipod connection, then the aux connection is not fitted (I don't have an aux connection, but I'm sure that I've read in the forums that it's located near the mirror controls/cigar lighter area?)

Yes the aux in is by the mirror button. I'm not sure how my ipod is connected to the radio but it would appear its the same cable that connects ipod to my pc. Therefore it would be usb cable one end and normal large ipod connector other end, but remember all i can see is the cable with the larger connector hanging out i dont know for sure exactly how its connected to the radio because the cable pops up by the cup holders. I'm guessing it must be usb at the other end though

I quickly checked the manual re the USB connection (I think you can order either the USB or the Ipod link, but not both), and it's also meant to be located underneath the drivers seat?

I'd speak to the dealer and ask them as to what they've actually supplied, and get them to check it over?

So, is this Seat factory made? It does not sound like it
When I did install the ipod connector on my last car. It was not factory made and it did look like the way you explained it. Did not work properly.
