EIP engine mount

Hi

Has anybody ordered an eip engine mount for thier leon from westec recently. I ordered one on the 25th of november and am still waiting for it, I was told on the 6th of december that the shipment from the u.s should be due in 7-10 days time. After 2 months and several unanswered emails it doesn't seem any closer to being delivered.

Has anybody else had to wait ages to get hold of this part, the problem seems to be with eip and not westec.

i'm afraid EIP are not the best company for "promptly" manufacturing and shipping their goods.
I don't think its Westec's fault, but a lot of people have cancelled their orders on EIP gear as they'd been waiting months for them, and the shipment still hadn't turned up.

Do a search. Westec's delivery of EIP parts is legendary. I'd use Westec again but never for EIP. You should have them by Easter I would say.

Wooo Hooo, just realised that I've hit 1000 posts.

Is this the dogbone mount that costs around 100 inc postage?
I ordered the powerflex rubbers as the leon already has the dogbone mount that you have ordered, recieved it inside a week too.

Im tempted to cancel & go for another brand.

well lets put it this way:

In my opinion (i have to put that cos no doubt i'll be flamed later) but I'd just get the powerflex bushes - no doubt in stock everywhere, quick delivery, do just as good a job as the entire EIP engine mount, and at 1/5th of the cost.

;)

You see, ive been told my 'Mount' is fractured or somethink, (some tuner had almost killed it)
so it was a case of SEAT or EIP dbm., however it can still be saved with new bushes.

how the hell do you fracture a lump of metal, especially where its actually located, unless the engine mounts were left loose the movement wouldnt break it.
(im open to be proved wrong!)

I'm with brendy (again) on that one - can't really see how your mount would be b*ggered - its a solid lump of metal with some bushes.
Unless the "tuner" has stripped thread(s) that the screws need, i can't see how they'd have broken it.

Yep thats what it is . Something to do with the screws & that id need a new DBM:doh:
Cant say the tuner showed it me, but another company said get a new DBM or try the bushes.

if another company said to try the bushes, then the DBM can't be fooked. The bushes go INSIDE the original DBM, and use the original screws. So if the DBM was fooked, then bushes wouldnt help.

Ya i know about that pabs....but as ive waited long enough for the EIP, i was thinking of doing just the bushes if possible, if condition of the dbm is benificial to do so.
