Has anyone swapped their standard aerial for an aftermarket stubby one. ??

I swapped the one I had on my old Toledo after eventually tugging the old aerial out.

I need to swap because everytime I get the car out the garage, the aerial is catching on the garage handle/locking mechanism and I don't really want to break or damage it.

Does anyone have any recommendations which/where to buy.

I would prefer a black one so it matches the car.

Thanks

I got a small black stubby aerial from Halfords after a week of owning the car. Firstly because of the height of my garage and secondly because i forgot to put it back on one day and it disappeared

forgot to mention the new one is total pants, stick with the original unless you can find a better quality one than i did.

I have seen the BMW Shark Fin areal on E-Bay, they say they fix Altea & are quite cheap. Not tried one though

If anyone is still needing a stubby aerial, I've put my honda civic type r one on ebay. It finishes tomorrow though and I spelt aerial as ariel though so will probably go for a cheap price! so would rather one of you guys won it.

No, I changed it last year for a Leon FR. Still miss it though, was one of the better year models before Seat got mean.

I always think the build quality is better in the early production runs of cars then they start cutting corners once they have established the model. The Altea is very well built, least mine is. But next year will be the time to change it will be 12 years old then and I fancy 4x4 for that scheduled move to the country at some point. I will be back here, when and if the Seat SUV gets launched.

good point, but only once they get past the initial gremlins. Like the look of the SUV, not sure it will handle as well as the Altea did though, but hope it does. The leons boot is just not big enough for a family holiday.
