Hi all.

I am a new member here and a proud new owner of a Seat Ibiza 1.2 S (I'm learning to drive).

I bought the car just a few days ago and already love it to pieces. However, the wheel's that came with the car are pretty awful 14" non-alloy. I would like some 17" alloy's and currently have my eye on the 7x17" Wolfrace Hybrid Wheel's.
However, I am unsure what tyres would be best and would appreciate some recommendations.

I would also like the following accessories but have been unable to find them, so if anyone knows where I can get them, please let me know!

Chrome grille kit, chrome vent surroundings, performance air filter, fog lamp kit, and also colour-coded wing mirrors.

Thanks in advance.

i would put some 16's on with 205/50/r16's on em, i think you might find the weight of 17's being spun by the 1.2 engine would affect your accelaration a fair bit, the FR's only run 16's with 205/45's on the pre facelift models but i think 50's will fill the arch more and be a bit quieter. as for the accesories you listed, apart from the air filter, they are all dealer jobbies so you'll need to grab the part no's from the MK4 faqs section and make a visit to your local SEAT garage or try ebay for some slightly cheaper. and finally for the airfilter, green filters are used by most people without causing any troubles with exessive oil, but i would drop a email to badger5 and ask whats best for your engine, they are fairly priced and deliver, plus they are site sponsors so have there own section on this site, hpe this helps a bit at least mate and welcome to the site :D

Thanks for the quick replies.

I think I will take you're advice and go for some 16's then.
Do you know roughly how much the accessories cost?
Thanks for the link davels. I won't be buying the fog kit or induction kit just yet, just the wheel's and a few accessories until I have at least passed my test.

Tyres

Hi,

Just thought I'd add my experience of WANLI tyres. I have been running these on my 130PD Alhambra for a year and they are abslutely fine. Not the best in the wet but very long wearing and plenty of grip in the dry. I regularly bash my alhambra up and down autobahns in Germany at high speed too and no problems at all. The 225/45 R17 S1088 Extra Load 94W rated tyres are only £53 delivered from mytyres.co.uk too!

davels if you fit 205 50 16 tyres they are the wrong profile you need 205 45 16 same as an fr if it 17 you want 205 40 17

fr tyres are 205 45 16 they will be more than 55's or 50's as they are lower profile

Would the new tyres create more road noise or make the ride more bumpy? Or will it be barely noticable?

How much do the FR wheels and tyres cost?

Cheers,
Chris.

paid £40 for it from work and just helps the engine breath a bit better but when its cold first and second gear you can hear a sort of growl from the engine low down revs sounds great:) but yeh if i dont go to uni away then im going to purchase a green cotton induction kit just a single one and try and put it in the spot behind the battery as they are small and long and perhaps stick a cold air feed from the grills to it possible:) be about £100 to do it like but well see...

i got the exhaust tip from demon tweeks for £30 inc P+P and got the FR rear valence from the stealers for £17 with family discount lol:D

but i got the extended pipe made up at catipiller at peterlee lol as next door neighbour works there and got a pipe that fitted flush wiht the original tail pipe however on the 1.2 ibiza the standard backbox pipe goes down so you have to saw the end off so its straight. this is why i needed the bit of pipe as it was too far in the bumper without it so...

Hi Ibiza02.

You're car looks very, very nice!
I'm not sure if I can afford the wheels yet and I am still undecided. I think I might go for the 16's instead.
Do you know what the Team Dynamic wheels are like?
I'm new to all this and don't really know all the different brands, etc.
