well i have been thining about buyin an fr 130 for a while and by the reports i have been given they are fast as standard. But i have been reading where people have them remapped to 180bhp. i have also had reports of peoples clutches slipping.

I would like to know who has theirs remapped and if they have had any probs with it.

Also what specs are they remapped to

Thanks in advance for any info :)

remapped to 180+bhp
300 lb/ft of torwue.

yes my clutch did slip if i planted my foot at under 2k revs.

The thing is if it slips adapt your dricing style, don't use accelerator as an on/off switch,

if you dont like the sound of that then either dont get it mapped, or spend £750 on an uprated clutch.

BTW. some peoples remapped cars have never slipped.

I had a Skoda Fabia VRS - remaped to 167hp and about 290lbs(382nm) and the clutch began slipping after 10000 km. It was inparticular a problem in the high gears.

ummm

maybe if i get it mapped i will tell them to keep the touque down a little compared to ur lot, keep the clutch healthy. 225bhp is a lot our of a 1.9 :) bet it shifts....

Whats fuel consumption like after the remap?

was thinking of buying the kit my self to do. just wondering what software ppl are using. any one know?

where do you think i should post this question?

custom remppaing to 180 Bhp and 425Nm and no slip at all

thats cool. any one else remapped at about that spec.... any clutch slip. also what difference do you feel with it been mapped at 180 from 130. through the gears faster and more pushing back into the seat?

is that a custom map, where you get yours done at? and how much? any probs with it?

I live in holland and had it done at JD engineering here in holland. The clue is not to let max torque come in quickly which some use to create big power.

Have a look here www.jdengineering.nl JD 1 JD2

Mine is limited to 380NM until 2100 rpm and building up until 425NM at 3000 rpm and hitting peak power at 3750 rpm. By upping the fuelling to early in the lower range you can get slip and turbo failure. Due to the high torque having to be created which also wrecks the clutch and stresses the flywheel more.

I would PM Pete of Bells auto services on here. He can offer custom mapping which is tailored to the car for a very reasonable price.

Dangreous if you dont have the means to repair the ECU if it all goes pair shaped when programming.

Custom map to suite your needs on standard 130pd car £295 all inc

Thats excellent info :) cheers mate, quick question, can you nail the throttle and get no slip. just people say to get no slip use the throttle variable and just just down and up? what is ur 0-60 time?

Bellautos - can you offer this idea on a custom map for the price you quoted. e.g. limit the torque till certain rpm etc. how long does it take and also where are you exactly located... post code = TOMTOM lol.

obviously havent got the car as of yet will be a couple of months yet.

0-60 is worthless on tdi's

mine managed a 14.8 sec 1/4 mile @92mph

30-70 was under 6 secs.

i did get 6.9 to 60 at Trax and timed a 6.6 using a Gtech.

Don't know about 0-60 Quicker than a golf or corrado vr6. My torque has also been limited in 1st and 2nd gear to stop slipping of the line constantly. When running Uniroyal rainsports i could nail it in the wet without spinning:lol:

MrCoyote has been in my car and said it was a different animal to his revo'ed Ibiza tdi which he use to have. Smoother and more power in the rev range. On the Ring going uphill a Integra Type R could only keep up not get past:D

No problem. At least you know how to change certain parameters when most just upload software bought in Germany.
Yes this is the very very sad case in the Uk that most tuners "OBD uploaders" DONT actualy see or understand the file they upload :-o

I take it U use something along the lines of WinOls and a encryption??

Yes Winols software for map writing :)

I must admit it is not the eayest software world to use , but i think is more profesional than Race2000 and simlar softwares.

My Leon CUpra TDI has also been chipped by JD Engineering in Holland. It still has the original clutch, and has got 213,6 hp / 422 Nm.

Without clutch slip or shakes at all. So it is possible!

Thats monsterous power on a standard clutch mate! :)

I'm selling my Tdi sport 110 very soon in favour of the 130 Ibiza. From just reading this thread I can already say I am 99% sure I will get Bellautos to do my map.

I take it the low down torque wreaks the clutches? So in theory you could run over 200bhp at the top end even on the standard clutch? What do you say mr Bellautos?

Thanks for the reply mate. Again I have heard very good things about you as well. That thread makes great reading. What are the prices of your CC1 and CC2 maps?

Also sorry for the newb quesiton, but what is a FMIC?

Ideally I will be after a map that going to give the best performance on the raod without melting the clutch. If that means peak torque has to be limited to 2500rpm then so be it.

Are you readily getting 200bhp and 300ft/lb on these engine without any problems or failures?

Cheers
