I have been reading the fuel consumption thread and found that most of the LC owners report about 280miles to the fuel light at this time of year.
A couple of the LCR boys have been shocked by this as they get over 330 to the light. I have confirmed this with a friend with an 04 LCR and another with a 2000 Audi S3 (210bhp) both of which get at least 330 miles to the light increasing to 350 if they drive carefully.
The best i have achieved is 320 in the summer when the engine is more efficient as it does not have to use as much fuel to compensate for more dense air. Now it is winter it has dropped to around 280 consistantly.
I am sure it is not just my car, so i am wondering if anyone out there can offer a technical explanation. Is it something to do with the K03s turbo? There must be a reason if an S3 can manage an extra 50 miles to the reserve with its power sapping 4wd.
Just in case you were thinking its my driving, most of the time it is my wife in the car with our son, or me driving the whole family. It is almost never driven hard.
