Weird Electrical Stuff!!!

ive had exactly the same thing, its intermittent it only happens every now and again but bloody anoying when your parking and its raining and both windows decide to go down and stay there dont have a clue, i rang seat before and i think they said all that is controlled by one control unit ?

i tried disconnecting the baterry but it done it a while after hasn't done it for a while now though, very strange problem

no mine is a 2001, speak of the devil it happend today after footie weird it always seems to happen wen its wet im sure someone said soemthing about the regulator getting wet? when i locked the car with the key and unlocked it again they went up very strange

I think the ECU that controls these functions is called the comfort module, I'm not exactly sure whereabouts its located on the Leon, but in my Passat daily its under the passenger seat.

i get a simular fault. My interior lights will come on and it sounds like either the boot lock or fuel cap is trying to unlock. if i lock the car from inside it will open itself when i here the noise

Theres a good chance it could be that yes.

comfort and convenience unit is located behind the exterir light switch and doesnt really go wrong.the most common thing to go is an electric window control unit/door control unit these not only do window up/down but locking signal goes through these. if you have access to vag-com then go into comfort and convenience control 46 then what should appear is 4 different lines of german writing of which i cannot exactly remember but goes like 'tordez'???
if you have all 4 then you know all 4 units are present but then its down to measuring block vaues to see what is working/not working.
But fault is normally easy to find by c/lock signal ie if u lock all doors then unlock
see which one hasnt unlocked

well ive scanned with vag.com with no problems at all..........on the auto scan......

don't think its to do with anything about some doors no unlocking....just the computer goes hay wirer sometimes!

MINE IS DOING EXACTLY THIS.

cant get anywhere dry to take it all to bits, but will try soon, also gonna look at that sodding fuse!!!!!

scared the living **** out of me, and had people staring at me in the pouring rain with both windows down. had to laugh...the leather didn't !!!!

Right then.....

Its happened again today!

Interior light came on randomly and then central locking went mad!

Where is the comfort module and where is the door/window control unit exactly?

took the door card off and its not damp or anything inside, difficult to see coz of the membrane but all seems dry!

can't see any control modules in there?

the window motor is the door control uniy and all works together.what ingress youll be lookung for will be in the multiplug/ pin connectors or got into the cu itself

the comfort module appears to be behind the instrument cluster....between instruments and the ECU....

theres no water in the doors as far as i could see...

Cars now booked in to an auto electrical dealer place tomorrow to see if they can find out the problem...

oh yeah and just got home and it has started doing the window things again!!!!

FRIGGIN THING!!!

All your windows down and no way of getting them back up!
