Have a dash mount in our lases LCR and yes we have to remove one of the nuts to allw the glove box to open etc and the radio does not fit back right.

I have a brodit in my Elise for my PDA and it is very good/easy to fit, not sure on the textured finish though

I have a Nokia CK7W blue tooth kit with vol control and the cradle that fits down the side of the climate control.

What is the auto leads mute kit?? Can some one explain as mine has no additioanl plugs or anything, its hardwired into the original, it does mute the stereo but there are a few other issues that it may be able to solve.

Cheers

Yeah, it might actually be called something else, but it mutes the radio and plays over the stereo speakers rather than the external nokia speaker. It also powers the car kit - saves you a bit of wiring time.

Parrot is a lot better, you don't have to buy expensive add ons like you do with the Nokia.

reason i asked about the CARK128 kit is that i already have one, so i thankfully dont have to fork out for anything, apart from the mute lead, which halfrauds dont stock i noticed today....

I prefer not to use the car stereo speakers as if I am justy messing with settings I like to be able to hear the radio, using the standard mute wire only turns the radio off when talking so much better imho

Mine mutes the stereo, pauseing play back unless it the radio, then the handfree kit flicks the replays plumbing sound through the oem speakers, doesnt change any settings on the stereo as its all done after the radio, i.e in the speaker outout. after the call then its flicks back and un pauses. Main benifit is that there is no nasty speaker in the footwell or traped behind the dash.

But doesn't that mean that you loose the streo when ever you press a button even when not on a call or loose the keypad tones.

I still prefer the stand alone speaker keeps everything seperate but still mutes during the call.

I have a nokia in-car kit already fitted but I have a samsung. Apart from switching phones, is there something cheap and easy I can do so I can use the samsung with the existing kit as I don't fancy ripping it all out.

Some of the nokia kits have bluetooth, theyhave a little rotary gadget you use to answer the phone, if so then yes the mokia one should work.

If not you will probably need a nokia phone, 6230i's cost about £99 brand new on tmoblie pay as you go (these are not loced to a network so you can just pop your sim in)
