Nope although what i didn't say was;

I had the DMF changed, got a clutch kit from Motorserv and fitted the cover plate, release bearing and then had the allards friction disc in.

Still cheaper than MK Seat for a DMF and OEM clutch.

As most of you say SOME standard cars have clutch slip from day one when nailing the car.

Some people suffer more than others :( this is the life of a vag clutch im afraid.

Some maps make them slip more than others , its realy down to the tuner at the time of mapping.

The botton line is , if you go for a slight increase in power and torque the clutch will probalaly be fine for ever.

If you want a more extreem tune then there is a possibility that you may need to uprate the clutch.

When you say extreme do you mean more power or the delivery??

A bit of Both realy .

You can have a map with good bhp but smooth as, and the clutch can be fine.

Or you can have the same/simlar map but stronger at setting off and the clutch will fail.

I personaly like to make my maps smooth so the components of the car last longer and the driveability is 100%.

I dont like a remap that is FULL on as soon as you touch the pedal, they feel like a ON/OFF switch and i persoanly dont like it.

Afterall the car has to be driven in all conditions and is not just there for thrashing every where you go.

There are quite a few with my map and no problems though so surely it's down to the individuals clutch?

Yes i agree , all cars even if the same models , the clutches do seem to respond differently to the tuning done.

I take it you do mean a REV0 map and not your own personal map.

I thought REV0 did not use generic mapping ??

Wish you weren't quite so far away. 225miles is a bit far but your map seems the best value for money out there :(

May be we could do a deal for something back towards the diesel to help take the sting out of the drive up here if your serious about a map :)

I think my Revo PD150 map is the same as any others.

Thats where i do actualy differ then from other companys then.

All my remaps are suited to the car and driver.

Unlike REV0 adding a generic (one map fits all) tune which they must if all 150PD maps are the same

I'm guessing so. Didn't you say that in some cases you restrict the power though?

I want the grunt at 2-3k and I don't want to fanny about until 3k so I guess I'm looking at a new clutch.

If you chip tha car expect a clutch at somepoint! Mine was chipped at 5K and now at 28K its slipping so much I've switched the Revo off for now. Its actually slipping in standard trim now but having a mate who is a VW master tech and Allard knocking out a decent plate for £210 ish delivered I know what I'm doing on the 14th Jan!!!

I'll inspect the DMF then and go with my mates advice on whether to change it or not.

Anyone got a parts price for the DMF and/or a supplier ?

cheers,

Andy

About to hit 10,000 miles. Remapped. See my avatar for numbers.
No slip. :)
I have been told that the standard clutch on a Mk4 Ibiza FR 130 (PD, engine code BLT) is rated to 300lbs/ft.
