Brake Disks... replacement time

Has anybody had any problems with the std front brake disks.

Bought my car about 2 1/2 years ago (2001 LC), at it's first service I had done it needed the front disks replaced, fair dues I did'nt know who had used the car before this time (FSSH though). Anyway to the present and 20000 miles later and I need to fork out another bundle to replace the front disks. Yes I have used the brakes in anger a few times, but normally its just running the car to work up and down motorways.
How long should the disks last, any info....?

Buy some bigger disks!
good answer, well done! :D

in all fairness disc wear depends on A) the pads you're using B) how often you have to stamp on the middle pedal. at the end of the day the discs need replacing numerous times in a cars life, i'll be happy if the discs on my LCR last 20k

My LC is still on its original disks and pads and has done 46k miles, most of it has been motorway mileage though so there won't have been too much wear. I can feel that they are getting near to needing replacement soon because the car doesn't stop like it used to

before spending on new pads & discs to improve performance, consider new brake fluid that is only meant to last 24 months max...
