Yeah, it still goes like absolute stink.

I've been keeping an eye on the oil level, and it has been going down, and i've been putting in VW 501.01 oil Castrol Edge stuff. So it shouldnt' be damaged

I see.

So unless I need a warranty claim - i'll be ok anyway (which makes sense to be honest)

Dealer says that because I'm so far over 10K, my warranty is shot.

But then he's working on assumptions and so am I.

tell him he knows fook all about warranty then and is just trying to wriggle out of possible warranty claims in the future. I had mine done at 8k by an independent place when i had my hybrid turbo fitted, then at 19k by a porsche specialist aswell. I have had suspension changed, brakes changed, intercoolers etc etc but i still get other warranty work done on the car.

This all comes back to the bad press i've heard about Seat dealerships...

I think I'd best find a good independent for all my servicing etc.

In the meantime, I have got Seat to order me books and replacement service history too (although it wont have the actual history)

Just hope I never have to make a warranty, get thursday's service out the way, then I'm stress free, lol.

My 20k service at this porsche specialists only cost me £95, that was with the correct vag pd oil aswell. Seat wanted well over £150, well :birdy: to the f*ckers

Motorpoint tend to sell a lot of European imports thats why they are so cheap. Anyone can walk into a Seat dealer in Europe and ask for a car that is LHD.

thats because they usually want a LHD car, not a RHD car ;)

I've had a similar problem with MotorPoint.

I bought a Honda Civic a couple of years back, advertised as EU import (therefor carrying pan European Honda 3yr warranty).

Turned out the car came from Cyprus, which at the time wasn't part of EU, so no warranty!

Needlesly I went mad, spoke to trading standards and told MotorPoint to take the car back, or compensate me. They gave me a 3yr (their own warranty) and £200 back, and that took a call to the top guy to eventually solve.

I also had a bitching Honda dealer similar to you reading me the riot act, he even said that the car was badly built as it would have been desinged for the Cypriot Hire Car market, so built with poor quality parts!! Unbelivable!!

Anyway, WRT to the warranty, unless you can prove (stamped and verified by VAT registered dealer [B)] ) it's been serviced at 1 yr old/10k miles your warranty is invalid (even the 2 year manuafacturer one), the UK cars come with that plus 1 year dealer extension. MotorPoint don't have to do anything as it wouldn't have needed a service at that point (when you took ownership), so it's your responsability to make sure it has been serviced to Seats requirements since then, which from what you've said you haven't......

Lesson to be learned, do your homework and check before leaving that you've got everything as agreed before driving the car off!!

****

I acknowledge that a lot of it is my fault, and I feel even more stupid for buying a car with no bloody history.

Serves me right I suppose.

HOWEVER

I have found the V5C document and it says

"Date first registered 01 04 2006" and to an address in the UK.

So, it can't be an import, right?
