Weird Electrical Stuff!!!

Right then...

this morning the weirdest and strangest thing happened!!!

Started the car, took the missus to work, drove to my work..... got to my work and was just about to turn off the ignition when the interior light came on without me opening the door!!!!

Then the central locking tried to unlock itself about 5 times or so before both windows suddenly roled themselves down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I turned the car off and back on, and the windows wouldn't work, i couldn't get them up at all!!! Got out the car and locked it manually with the key and held the key in and both the windows went back up!

Locked it and unlocked it with the remote...

Thought i better get in and try again, started the car back up and all was fine, just blipped the throttle pedal and the interior light came on again and the car began to try and unlock again and again......no windows this time...

tried the same thing as before, locked, unlocked and restarted car, blipped throttle and the interior light came on again and the windows went down!!!

WHAT THE HELL!!!!

Blooody weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any help? sounds like electrical gremlins but ive never ever had any problem with the electrics at all!!!!!

...i had similar gremlins the other day and a fuse blew, changed it and was all ok afterwards. I think the interior light, unlock button and windows are on the same fuse if this helps

the things i had was the hazzards going off even theough the button wasnt pushed in, the interior lights flickered on and off eventually stopped working, the locking button would only lock and not unloc, and windows went down a tad like on coupes lol

The interior light does come on when you remove the key from the ignition .

the key WASNT removed from the car..

i said "i was JUST about to remove the key from the ignition"

I had a similar problem with both windows going own when i turned the ignition off. Turned to be water in the driver side window regulator caused by the bad weather, causing a short,

Yeah it did freak me out, ive still not gone out to the car to see if its stopped doing it!!!!!!!

its a bit worrying!

Just bene in it again and you start the car and it randomly puts both the windows down.....

then u stop the car and before u get chance to get out, the windows go down again...

no central locking noises this time......

bloody thing is doing VERY odd things and its freaking me out!

can't see any water around the door switches, suppose have to take the door card off to check motors........

bloody annoying...

could it be water in to the ECU? will check that and also will take the battery off for 30mins and let it reset itself.... are my only other ideas...

Yeah it does doesn't it...

odd tho as doesn't do the same thing every time......

almost like a cycle test....testing things.......

only thing i can think, i was looking in the immobliser instruments module at the immob code on saturday but have used the car since then (last nite) and nothing was a miss with it at all!

well i took the scuttle panel off......the ecu was dampish, but nothing extrodinary....just the plastic bit that covers it was damp and bit of crud on it.... dried it all out and then took the battery off for 30mins.......

seems to have gone away but im still suspcious!!!!!!!!!!

you can easily see which fuse is broken without taking them out when u remove the cover from the box under the steering wheel. Mine was a 7.5 amp brown fuse.

Just wandered which fuse but sorted now

Took Battery Terminal off for 30mins and reset car and all has been fine since!!!
