Just had my adjustable coilovers fitted day ;) Now shes riding nice and low BUT in order to get them on the garage has not reconnected the anti-roll bar as the kit does not allow for this connection???

Now does this sound like I have the wrong kit or possibly iam just missing a bracket???

Is my car safe to drive in the mean time, ive just thrown it around a bit on the way back and she handles fine. He did say it would fail an M.O.T which does worry me but I did only have it done on monday so that was a bit of luck :D

If anyone can advice me that would be bloody marvelous!

Its the standard front one! Its currently running without any front roll bar apparently thats how you would run it on a track day so its not causing any harm to the car???

sounds like they've fitted a Cupra kit to your Cupra R - the ARB connection is different IIRC

as for the track day comment they're demonstrating they're inability to 'do' cars - as that's just plain ****.

go back, tell them to take it off and revert to std or fit the right kit.

Eh!

Well the front std ARB may be rubbing the driveshafts now it's been lowered and may need replacing or the links adapting etc.

TBH this is the first LCR I have ever heard this on, regular occurance on the LC though???

If you go for replacement a Neuspeed ARB fitted my lowered LCR on Coilovers with no issues (Available from Awesome GTI)

Makes no sense to me what so ever, you car was designed to run with a front ARB and I would guess without one you have more flex and the front and therefore more understeer? someone correct me If I am wrong....

I just don't understand the trackday comment.

It's a common misconception that big front ARB = lots of understeer, I have tried it on my car with my cash and can confirm this is the opposite to what I experienced.....the LCR benefits from a larger front ARB (25mmm is ideal IMO)

if i upgraded my arb do you think this will get me over my problem?

I don't recall anyone else with an LCR having this issue

I ran my LCR with the std front ARB for at least 2 months (lowered about 20mm on Bilstein Coilovers) pictures here (I fitted a rear ARB and coilovers only at first)

AFAIK Zboyd ran a standard front ARB with his lowered LCR for months too.

I don't understand their other comments about trackdays either.

i havent got a clue all i know is that my standard suspension had a bolt hole for the arb and my new coilovers do not!!!

Aha so you have the wrong Coilovers by the sound of things, not an FK kit is it?

They have fitted LC coilovers not LCR ones, LCR front end is more Audi TT / S3 set-up

Have a search cos Phil had this problem (Empi5)

yep - m0rk and Rudd are right - you've got the wrong coilovers. (Not that you need a confirmation from me, just felt i should say the same thing!)

The Cupra kit has different front end, and thus no connections for the ARB to mount to.
The Cupra R kit has the same front parts as an Audi TT (i think), and with this kit the ARB is connected to the coilovers themselves.

I know I wouldn't want to drive a car without an ARB fitted - after all... i'm sure its there for a reason... a very GOOD reason! Handling without an ARB? pffttt...
I'd have to question the knowledge of the garage who has fitted this kit without knowing, or in fact, letting you drive away with it as it is!

When i pick it up i asked are you sure its the right kit then and why did you not ring me before you started fitting it he said is the right kit it just had the clamp missing from it that wraps round the suspension then the arb attaches to that. Thanks for the feedback everyone im dead sert they're wrong, the bloke i got then from got them direct from the manufactures in germany and they even confirmed with me that i had an arb!!!

What coilover kit do you have?

There should be an extra bracket on the coilover body for the arb ties
