The cheek! ;o) I got mine 2 years ago for 5 grand - flippin bargain as I purchased it from my bro's lease company as it was his company car, admitedly with 105,000 miles on it... Given the amount of money I've spent recently, the balance had been addressed!

Only jokin mate lol

I did love VW's but unforatunately i grew to dislike them due to there numbers in where i used to live in ilford. Promantely Asian community, and they love there Golfs! So i went to Seat know that it would be one of VERY few in the area... since then i have moved to essex and Leons are more in numbers, have more people to waved too... lol

Nope have to go the other way and go Audi diesel to be honest, i just dont like BMW's....lack imagination IMHO...

if they bring out a RS4 in a diesel, engine from the Audi Le Manns car... well I'll have ticket number one please....
BMW lack imagination ! Let me put it to you this way
Audi 2.5 TDI 161 bhp
Audi 3.0 TDI 222 bhp
Audi 4.0 TDI 276 bhp

BMW 3.0 twin turbo 272 bhp and easily tuned to nearly 400 bhp with no lag just pure power from start to finish. You drivern a 335d or 535d sport ?
Funny that - I was thinking about a RS4.2... V10 TDI yesterday too...

So Mike, you consider yourself a diesel man rather than VAG? What other cars have you owned, pre the Cupra?

I'd find it hard to buy outside of the VAG group... Only ever owned Golfs - 1 Mk1, 2 Mk2s, 2 Mk3s, and now the Mk4...

Should probably keep m'head down, this being a Seat forum an'all!

I tune whatever engine/car i think is best at the time. PD Cupra is a dam good FWD diesel then they brought out the PD140 engine now the 3.0 BMW engine is best. Whats in the future who knows. I do prefer the Audi to a BMW plus it has 4WD to take the power which i do love my 4wd.
Still very new to diesel tuning really. First diesel i was going to tune was an Ibiza PD130 which when i found out how many flaws the car has got for tuning compared to the PD 160 Cupra when that came out six months later i sold the 130 and got a Cupra which i kept for 8 months untill i had my little "incedent" and now play with the Audi. Before i was a petrol head:doh:

No, Mikey i think you got the wrong end of the stick....

I think BMW "owners" lack imagination, its like a girl buying a D&G bag because its got a badge, they dont understand nor refuse to say that a Primarks bag is just as good.
This is my opinion on it, hey but i have met ALOT of BMW owners fitting flip out screens and alarms on cars, all of them are the same to me. This is what lacks in my mind.
I would ratehr buy a Skoda and dump a BMW engine in it then drive a BMW personally as BMW has a rep for a reason as a majority are the stereotype (not saying all are but even my girlfriend laughs at BMW owners and she knows NOTHING of cars...)

I think BMW engines are great (except the M3 engine, that sounds like its broken a piece of its manifold and is now bouncing it around like a tumble dryer in the back box, on full chat) and i have driven the 3 series TD's, thats the plus of fitting Sat Nav on cars, you get to take it for a drive to calibrate it. :funk:

I mean hopefully when i get fed up with the Leon, it will be the time Audi goes and blows BMW TD engine out of the water using the technology and information that the Le Manns car has provided them.

Sorry mate i did get the wrong end of the stick, i will remove it from my ass pronto :scary: thats better. I agree that BMW drivers do have a bad stereo type which alot of them seem to like to live up to when i meet them on the motorway. I would prefer to stay with Audi if they build a better engine, only time will tell.

No worries Mikey i knew you didnt mean anything in a bad way, everyone has their opinion, at least you agree its the engine not the car badge you want....

Hey, maybe we dont need to wait for Audi to do it, the way Allards and alike seem to be going they might crack the proverable egg with some sort of bi-turbo propane conversion...

as you say, time will tell, but if not i havent got a problem least the VAG diesel aint as bad as the Fords TDCi unmodifable lump.

Cheers for that guys thats a real help, As im now looking for 312mm (at least) brakes and suspension, does anyone know of any recommeded places especially with the brakes as i'm having difficulty finding some (unless it's just me being a blind gimp) on the net. On top of all that i was looking at getting some Lenso stage 1 alloys would this cause any problems with lowering the car

I don't know whether the Ibiza has caliper carriers that can be swapped .... but on my Leon, i fitted the 312mm caliper carriers from a Golf Synchro then swapped the existing calipers onto the new carriers - new 312mm discs and reused the existing pads. Fitted braided lines and the brake feel / performance feels a lot better with a lot more in reserve.

Looking at peoples sigs, like Ibiza Evo 2, It says that he has 312mm tt brakes, Now does that mean that he might have just put them straight on, Or is a conversion

Look on Ebay, and search for TT brakes, there is a guy on there called GOLF TURBO, he sells the kits for about £240 +£40 delivery from germany, then its just a case of out with the old and in with the new. I wuld say, pound for pound, its the best mod you can do. IMHO

Cheers Ibzia Evo 2, On another subject your hybrid turbo where did you get it and your clutch from, and with the turbo did it have any major impacts on the engine itself i.e new injectors/manifolds etc. etc.

I got my turbo from turboservicebelgium and the clutch from AutotuneHeinz...but hey,i'm from Belgium:D .
Look for the turbo at Allard, the hybrid I have matches the VT2 from Allard.
Contact spaniels for the sachs clutch ;)

No problem on the engine or whatever...only tires

I've recently fitted the 312mm TT Disc / Porsche 4 Pot Calliper combo from Awesome GTI - it was £800 delivered inc VAT (they did me a kind deal) - yes very expensive, but trust me, the braking power is just awesome - gives you so much more confidence in the car.

Awesome also do a Tarox 6 Pot kit for similar money - even better braking power, but without the ponce factor of Porsche callipers behind the Porsche wheels! ;o)
