'Debate rages on as to whether the newly released Cupra R 225 is worth the premium over the 210 version. The price hike of just over £1000 does include Tracker Retrieve, leather steering wheel, new style folding mirrors and the upgraded Audi S3 engine (upgraded from 210bhp to 225). '

Only early 225 models had the tracker fitted (53/04/54 plated cars) 05 plated cars and newer it was removed.
And 210 plated 03 cars (May-Sept) had the teardrop mirrors so this was not a 225 upgrade

Steering wheel is though:)

When does a Cupra R 225 start to get dodgy with high miles?? I'm approaching a 60K service and it was registered 20/1/2004?? Or are there bits i can replace to keep her going strong?

Keep it well serviced, with oil changes more often than services if possible, and make sure you warm the car up and down properly and it should do double that mileage without serious problems.

Just a quick question. On the Custom Code Website it states slightly higher figures Bhp + Tourque on the 225 Version after a remap than the 210 Version. Is there a mechanical difference in some way that the 225 maps better:confused:

I'd guess it's all to do with the advertising.............or a fluke that the one they remapped gave a higher rolling road figure

Steering wheel is different, the 225 has no door pins, the 225 has tear drop electric folding mirrors. the change from 210-225 took place in 2003. So anything older than a 52 Plate is likely to be a 210.

Friend has a black 210, i have a 225 in black too. he has black R badge. I have Red.

210 has no door pins either, and 210 cars also have teardrop wing mirrors so these were not 225 facelifted upgrades.

The change took place for the 53 plates. 03 was the last of the 210's, excluding any dealer pre-reg's

What year is yours then? that surely can't be standard on all 210's mate, iv only seen a couple of 210's and from what i know the door pins and mirrors were different to mine.

The teardrops were a revision for the 2003 cars, ie 03 plated and onwards. They were not a 225 addition. 225 never started until 53 plate although some 210's are registered on a 53 plate also.

52 plated LCR's had the square mirrors

As far as i know LCR's have never had door pins:confused:
