Ok so who should win this? (standard LC with forced air induction kit)

Finally got to play against this kid who used to be in the year below me (hes 19now) I think it was the 2.2 vtec

Acceleration wise i beat him but then top end he started edgein past (i guess due to the vtec)

We hit 100 down one way of the dual carriageway, he slotted behind me, he backed off on the roundabout (*****) i was understearin big time (it was wet) and the traction control light was flashin at me, then back down the dual carriageway hit 110mph and he was just infront of me. He was first to break

so all in all acceleration i won, top end he won....sound right?

You're an idiot. a)for doing it, and b) for bragging about it on a forum.

A little play? Yes.

Tailing each other at a ton+, through roundabouts, in the wet? No. The bloke is a messy bloody stain waiting to happen.

We all have a little play from time to time, but I am sorry the open road is no place for street racing, and we in no way promote it or are happy for people to be bragging about it in our forums. Any such future posts will be removed. If you want to drag race like this, get yourself down to a drag strip.

I'll also add that if were contacted by the police regarding stuff like this, we are legally bound to hand over all IP logs and evidence regarding your identity, you've been warned. No one is anonymous on the internet.

it's always people like this that kill a family on a day out, while they walk away barely scathed. Grow up a bit

Im not condoning this,but.... does everyone drive at 70mph everywhere?

I mean why do we buy these cars, make them go faster and handle better?

I dont get to take my car on a track and race about so should i have just bought a 1.2 corsa?

I know what you are saying, but there is a difference between driving fast and driving dangerously.

Driving fast in the dry, in good conditions and on roads that you know are safe isn't sensible, but at the same time it's controllable to a certain extent, and let's be honest, we all do it!

Driving like a nut in the wet, on roundabouts, at 100+MPH with somebody up your tailpipe is, quite frankly, stupid. Doesn't matter what you drive, it's stupid.

Given the recent stories (I assume you read the story about the RX8 owner and Highway insurance?) about insurance companies reading internet forums and refusing to pay out because of comments made on those forums, I think it's also stupid to go bragging about it.

No i doubt he is the only one, but that doesn't make it any more defendable, we take a dim view of it, it harms the credibilty of the forums, and as such means we don't want to encourage it.

No i never saw the RX8 story mate.

I defo agree about the wet road and everything and its defo a very fair and valid point.

The other one is also a fair point and on thet one...

My mate had a Focus RS and he was driving relatively fast down the road he drives every single day when a woman pulled in front of him without checking her mirrors properly....i have pics of his written off RS and one very very luck friend who is still here to tell the story!!!

No i never saw the RX8 story mate.

In a nutshell... a bloke tried to claim on his insurance, through Highway, but they refused to payout as they found his posts on a Mazda forum discussing racing and what time he managed on a drag strip like Pod. He hadn't declared his trip to the strip and his insurance doesn't cover any form of racing (legal or illegal) so they refused. They also found a T-Piece in, I believe, a fuel line so claimed he had fitted something like Nitrous and not declared it.
All that because he bragged on an internet forum where he thought he was untraceable.

alright i get the point. No need for a full blown lecture over it. Its not like i do it all the time and i know it was wrong but at the end of the day u cant tell me that i am the only person here who has done this.

I know bragging about it wasnt exactly the highlight of my life but i was just asking a question (stupid one if that). Delete this thread then. It doesnt bother me in the slightest

i could make points about things written in this thread but when it comes down to it theres no point and i dont want the backlash as for 1 i like the forum, 2 it helps me out and 3 i wanna keep comin back

so as before, just delete it and that'll be that
