Has anyone taken the factory plastic mesh stuff off the front of their Cupra?

Basically I want the front to look a little more like this. Thinking of a fine black mesh.

What do you think? Its a shame to hide the Front mount away.

Would I need to modify the crash bar thingy?

Yeah im thinking of doing that when i get mine next year. Does look loads better IMHO. i would say try the fine black mesh first and see what its like. if you dont like it you can always stick the other stuff on.

I took my grill off my non sport bumper.

Looked good, but my fmic got plastered in flies and mud...

Some were bending the cooling fins!!! [fat *******s]

Looking at my car before.... it looks like i'd have to move the crash bar further up. Which May prove to be difficult. I may have a fiddle with it tomorrow

yea, i has a right game trying to clip the grill into the bumper, you also got to be carefull not to break any of the lugs off or else it wont clip back in properly.

Also just noticed on the picture of yours the Intercooler pipes look as if they would be in the way if you were to raise the crash bar up:(

Ah yes.... i'll still have a fiddle tomorrow, as long as its not too cold ;)

I'll see what its like with out the plastic grill and with the crash bar still in place.

was going to say its missing the nymberplate housing bit just take grill off and replace with fine mess crash bar is behind the numberplate bit so you wouldnt need to move it

It looks like the grey bit eitherside of the number plate housing is attached to the bumper. Fingers crossed I wont be called into work, and it wont be too cold. :)

I know halfrauds do black mesh

As EVO2345 said its a pain to get the grill back on. infact i think it would be nigh on impossible. Plus the mesh I got isnt big enough. Think I'll have to have a look in B&Q or something. :(

So i'll have to give it a go another day with proper full size mesh. I think it would look good though. OR i may just take it off and leave it blank till i get some mesh
