Revo trial problem?

Just got the free 5hr Revo trial on the 20vt today. It's all good and I have an even bigger smile on my face than usual. The only thing which I am worried about is the Diagnostic/Excess pollution light is constantly on since I had the trial loaded.

When I drove away from the Revo dealer everything was ok. I stopped for about an hour and the engine was switched off. When I returned to the carand started the engine the lights all came on as usual but then I noticed the Diag light was on all the time. Stopped for an hour or so since and it is still on when I drive the car.

Is this normal when the trial is on? Will it go off after the trial ends?

Any ideas?

Not normal... sound's like you should drop back into the dealer and have the fault codes checked. You've got something wrong elsewhere that's either being emphasised by the software or is a coincidence.

Cheers Kev.

Will the dealer charge for this service? If they do I will have to just ask someone with VAG-COM to have a look for me.

Yeah I did wonder if the maf may have been on way out. I sometimes get surges at low revs, like upto 3k. It's almostlike it's on full boost for a split second.

I replaced the DV with the Forge 007 and got myself a new N75(F) valve but the surging still seems to be there.

Having said that I also think I can hear some pressure leaking when on boost but don't know if this sound is norm or if a pipe is split somewhere. Only had car about 2 month and it was like this when I got it.

Will have a go at cleaning maf with Isopropyl and see if this helps.

Will I need to get the fault light reset?

the trial could of exploited a weak part somewhere due to the increase in boost, as said most probably maf related or pipework leaking, hopefuly someone with vag com will help you out, maybe worth getting this at some point if you have a laptop. Dealer will charge you £50+ to even put it on there diagnostic check machine.
I had this light come on and was the maf sensor, all the best mate im sure it wont be too serious

Right guys me and Ju have VAG-COM'd it this aft.

Here are the results.

2 Faults Found:

18010 - Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low

18048 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs

18010 I know is from when I dissconnected battery when I changed N75.

18048 Comes back as an EPROM fault.

We cleared the codes and then it came back with just the 18048.

This only came on after I had the Revo trial downloaded. Have they done something wrong?

It also now keeps coming on. How do I get it cleared? :help:

p.s. Cheers Ju

18048 is only there to tell you that you havent purchased the full version of vagcom, its not an engine fault at all.
voltage too low usually happens when youve either ran the battery down or disconnected it for a period.

I got this fault when my battery went flat. Shareware vagcom cleared it and it did not come back. Go into Engine and clear fault codes.

18048 is an actual fault code

"18048 P1640 Internal Contr.Module (EEPROM) Error "

nothing to do with vag com being registered or not

both faults were cleared then the 18048 fault reappears again putting the engine check light back on

ibizacupra can you give me a bit more info on this please. Did the Revo dealer put the wrong trial code on?

if there was a problem during the burn towards the end, or the wrong code installed by mystake then this could be the end result.

take it back.

Hi,

I've had exact same problems after Revo trial. Get 18048 error, surges at low rev's and sometimes cuts out when revs drop at junction/ stopping etc.

I will be speaking to Westec asap.

Have had a good look at the engine and the only other thing that could be a miss is the vacum pipes under the engine cover leading to the vac res look/feel like they need replacing. Have got pipe on order and will update when I have spoken to Westec and changed vacum piping.

Arrrgghh!!

I had a revo trial a couple of weeks ago and the guy who installed it says 99% of the time VAG COM shows 2 faults after flashing the ECU. He explained that it was uploading the software that made the faults appear and nothing to worry about. I watched him do the work and sure enough, 2 faults came up, one was a low voltage problem, I cant remember the other. He just cleared them and they didn't re-appear. The trial has now ended and the car returned to stock with no problems.

Revo will help out all they can I'm sure.

Cheers.
