Hi ive removed the steering rack from my
ibiza before really easy to do, well if you have it on a 2 poster ramp that is and a compressor.
Remove the lower steering column cowling at the bottom of the steering column inside the car and remove the two 10mm bolts and the support bracket and pull the column upwards to remove the column from the rack.
remove bothe front wheels.
remove track rod end nuts from the hub
dont have to remove the full engine bed just lower it,but will be difficult if you dont hav a hydraulic jack to lift it back in n line it.
remove the rear bed bolts and just loosen the front one, one on either side and the bed should swing downwards at the back. Theres a think 2 bolts holding the rack to the bed (bolt up and thru then a nut)
the rack should be pretty free now, might be a couple of clips holdin the pipes to the rack tht need to come off and then undo the two unions where the pipes go in.
Thats a quick
guide on
how to do if sorry if ive missed anything was a while ago when i did mine, however on a ramp is much easier and with a compressor as the bed bolts can be very tight also after ull need to do the tracking aswell which i did by lazer at work so was easy. but i cud imagine tht the labour costs would be quite high. Took me bout 1 - 1/2 to do mine. then tracking.
hope this is any
help but would advise taking to a garage to get done tho.
