Does your FR attract bone heads?

Well ours seems to , on several occasions over the last few days the rear of our FR seems to act like a magnet for 'go faster' boys. Last night whilst picking my youngest daughter up from TGI Fridays we had more than unwelcome attention from much 'modified' Nova, Fiesta and Focus drivers (all in the space of about 6 miles). Today while out on business I had very close attention of a new Golf GTI, with twin separated pipes modification
I thought (was hoping) the FR was a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing but it appears not.

Dad has mentioned this a few times. He's had Z4's, GTi's, A3's, TT's, all sorts trying to get him racing them. Think people know what they are now to be honest.

I would assume its because of its "newness"

People you see know what it is, but have never raced one to know whether to steer clear off due to an ass whipping or to wind up coz they know they are quicker.


Until they know - they will carry on trying, the ones that loose will not try again, the ones that win will go round baiting others.

i get stupid 1.6 corsas wanting a play but hardly ever get any interest as it looks like a standard ibiza mk4 with nice alloys and an exhaust lol 1st and a bit of second is all it needs to show them up!
the leon fr does look nice and thats why they will want a go with it!

Well I have not raced any of these either. But when somebody is stuck to your bumper it is very hard to resist the temptation to floor it from about 2000 RPM in the lower gears Rolling in gear acceleration in the FR TDI is just so addictive

Ive started getting daft lads and other reps trying to race me aswell but i thought it was because my fr's bright yellow and they must think cos it looks like that im up for a race!

should have seen the guys face in porche boxter when he realized that he was only a few mph faster flat out, then when i pulled along side him at roundabout and he saw tdi in red nice fr tdi soon to be remaped has ne one got info or hard evidence on what to expect

Star Performance reckon that a remaped FR Tdi will go from 170 to arround 200bhp when i get mine they are going to read the ecu and send to German co OCT to look into it.this would also be switchable.

Your FR does 155??? cuz thats what the "slowest" boxter does...
and the quickest FR TDi 142...

I get some of the local boy racers having a sniff now & again although part of it is due to it being Chrono Yellow and they think anyone who has one in a bright in your face colour will want to race !

Nice to leave them behind though........

All the time! Especially with the body kit on it. Hubby was driving it back from Sainsbury's on Tuesday, and had a BM stuck to the bumper, flashing him. As soon as the road cleared infront, hubby put foot to floor, and BM was a mark in the distance!

We love the car. Very different from Hubby's car (911 c/w GT3 kit - now that really does attract some idiots), but drives & handles like a dream!
