Are they working? Touch them to see if there warm. If they are then id say get some rain x stuff to let the dew etc flow off

they don't seem to be warm to the touch, as for the rain-x. its a fantastic product but its only a short term remedy. i live in a village out in the sticks where the snow falls deep and the frost sets thick, i could do with them working, (and i cant be arsed scraping the mirrors in the morning)
has anyone any ideas as to what i can check?

I've a vague recollection that the heated mirrors only work when the switch is at the 12 o'clock position. Might be completely false though.

Have you checked fuses - might be on a different fuse.

Any luck with this dude?
I have the same problem in a way. The pasanger side mirror is ok, but on the driver side is a bit slow. It takes up to about 10 min to clear.
In my Laguna which I had up untill 4 weeks ago they used to clear in about 2 minutes. Now It takes about 5-10 min and the same goes for the rear window!!
Not sure if that's a general problem or if that is normal?

I just realised this morning I had heated mirrors....worked superbly!
I had them on my Ibiza FR, but on the Leon FR its not as obvious as it only comes on when you use the heated rear window switch.

It must be just mine.
Looks like another trip to the dealer. It's becoming annoying now, been taking it back to the dealer every 2 weeks and I only bought it a month ago!! [:@]

no joy with the 12 o'clock position, and the fuses all seem to be ok, so i guess i should be getting it put on a VAG COM to see if it can find the fault, bugger!

how long on average do you find it takes your rear window heaters to work? mine seem to take ages

mine take around the same amount of time too, i have also found the wing mirrors not to be greatly affective in the last couple days

i assume they are activated at the same time as activating the rear windscreen heaters?

having looked around the dash there is certainly nothing to suggest a seperate button for them, they are not the kinda part that needs renewing over time are they?

As we know the heated mirrors are activated when the rear demister switch is pressed, however if I remember correctly the heated mirrors only come on at a certain temperature?

I was in work for 7am for the last 2 weeks and temp wise at that time of the morning it has not been below 12 - 15 degrees, so maybee it is just not cold enough yet?

Saying that Snoopcousins have worked allready?

Snoopcousins not being funny but your mirrors may have cleared on their own due to wind flow, were they warm to the touch?

If so then we can put this idea to bed.....
